@tayvano_ It’s an interesting, nontypical project I’m working on with a client that has been on my radar. I do not think I would be in a rush to work with Mercor again though, given my experience thus far.
Does anyone know an address for a real person at a company called Mercor? Support@ it’s definitely a bot and it does not seem to have any equivalent to shouting real person into the phone or mashing zero or pound.
@tayvano_ My issue is with the first week of work not the last but yeah. Basically they have a support bot, but the support bot will not escalate my issue with not having access to the timekeeper my first week to an actual person.
Today is @bsidesporto. I’m really bummed not to be there. However, the consulting engagement I had to return to the US early for has kicked off. I’m very sad that there was no way I could do both. Thank you to the organizers for understanding. Hopefully, I will be able to join you next year. Also thank you to @bsidesvilnius, @BSidesKrs, @BSidesLeeds, and Bsides Umeå for having me speak/teach. Even with the consulting engagement coming up and forcing me to return early, I had a great time on my European speaking tour. I visited 5 countries (not including airports) and presented 4 talks and 2 workshops at European @SecurityBSides events.

@luv1bun I would be troubled by the sex ed teacher using the terms “girls” and “man” together in that sentence. It’s either girls and boys or women and men. A man should not be intimate with a girl full stop.
@0xTib3rius It seems I got out just in time. I was in the Netherlands during a heat wave once and asked the same question. It gets really hot here in Mississippi, but no one would dream of not having air conditioner.
Unboxing video and Meta Glasses POV shopping experience videos to come, but here’s my loot from York Ghost Merchants on my recent trip to England for @BSidesLeeds. Plus, you’ll notice 3 cat ghosts from another store in The Shambles called Barghest.

@timur_aura@BSidesLeeds The leader of Bsides Umea gave me a T-shirt from their computer club to wear on the 2nd day, and I got a toothbrush and other supplies from a grocery store, but yeah, I looked and felt gross throughout the event, and I'm sure my performance suffered as a result.
Lost my luggage for 3 days in Sweden after it never made it out of Manchester.
This was largely my own fault. After @BSidesLeeds, I went a little wild at York Ghost Merchants and somehow convinced myself it was a good idea to check my rollaboard on the way to Umeå.
The result was giving 2 talks and a workshop at BSides Umeå with nothing but the clothes on my back.
Things became even more ridiculous when I boarded my flight back to Stockholm with this absurdly fabulous hat I bought at The Hat Shop in York. Faced with the prospect of it being crushed in the overhead bin, I realized I had another option: wear 3-days-dirty travel/conference clothes paired with a hat fit for a royal garden party.
So for a brief period of time I looked like someone who had spent 72 hours traveling and teaching while simultaneously attending a garden party for the aristocracy.
Thankfully, my bag and I were reunited at ARN in Stockholm before my flight home. I am now considerably cleaner, considerably more comfortable, and currently flying from Munich to Chicago in my @comfrt VIP travel hoodie and matching sweatpants.

Nothing makes me roll my eyes faster than the pay-to-play awards industry.
Same with those “magazines” where you can pay to be featured as one of the “Top U.S. Female Tech Founders in Mobile Security with Brown Hair and Blue Eyes born on a Tuesday.”
The fact that companies make money by selling recognition rather than earning it is a travesty.
