As it's unlikely I'll get to any more games, I'm calling that the end of my 2025/26 football. So here's my end of season stats;
I got to 153 matches in 5 countries, in 91 different grounds, of which 47 were new grounds
I got to 33 matches outside the UK
🇩🇪 x30 🇳🇱 x1 🇫🇷 x1 🇵🇱 x1
Don't know where to start with this one. Absolute bucket list ✅️
Ellenfeldstadion
Borussia Neunkirchen 0-3 SV Saar 05 Saarbrücken
€5 entry
€3/4 beer
The number 1 German ground on my list for the last few years & it didn't disappoint.
Get ready for a photo dump!! 👇🏻🇩🇪⚽️🍻☀️
@KarlJLatham Tallinn is a great place and you’re right about it being a summer league and gives people like us opportunity to watch football.
And to be fair it’s 3rd after basketball and ice hockey, so figures it struggles
@german_stadiums You can! I stayed in my hotel bar for a few in the end as couldn’t find any bars in close proximity - I’m sure there were but I was knackered after the match…
House of Soviets looked the part though.
Time to confirm the first half of the #UCL Quarter Final line-up. An early kick-off in 🇵🇹, followed by a trio of games in 🏴
-After another vintage Aspmyea display, Bodø/Glimt sit 3-0 up and on the verge of hitting yet another European peak. Leg 2 at the José Alvalade is still well worth watching, primarily because Glimt are box office, but also because we're getting one of the best European comebacks of all time if Sporting CP 🇵🇹 progress from here...
-Arsenal 🏴's percect UCL record is gone, but they've still preserved an unbeaten run with a late controversial penalty. Bayer 04 Leverkusen 🇩🇪 put in a respectable effort last week, but levels are going to need to be even greater tonight if they are to knock out the Premier League champions-elect in their own backyard...
-Down across London, a Chelsea 🏴 team stung by recent results, including Leg 1 with Paris Saint-Germain 🇫🇷 where they suddenly went from being in the game to out of it within the near blink of an eye. 2-5 the starting deficit at the Bridge...
-Manchester City make it a hat-trick of teams today who need to somehow overturn a three-goal deficit to progress. Punished by Federico Valverde 🇺🇾 at the Bernabéu, huge work to do at the Etihad...
The #UEL is back. The winner's in here, somewhere.
It still feels as open a competition as it was when we started. You might fancy a Lyon v Villa final, but a lot needs to go right for that to happen.
-All-Italian clash starts at the Renato Dall'Ara.
-Immediate test for Aston Villa 🏴 in the knockouts. Memories of the Conference League Quarters just 2 years ago, where they just edged past Lille OSC 🇫🇷 on penalties.
-Benítez goes after a scalp. A first chance to see if Real Betis 🇪🇸 are still at the knockout round standards of last season.
-Farioli's almost all-conquering FC Porto 🇵🇹 don't get a nice smooth start to thwir campaign post the League Phase.
-Table toppers Olympique Lyonnais 🇫🇷have recently lost their strong winning run, but still have an active one in Europe. Celta de Vigo 🇪🇸 away is a Iago Aspas 🇪🇸 banana skin in waiting though...
-Lovely pair of outsiders clashing in Budapest. Ferencváros 🇭🇺 here after their latest beating of Ludogorets, SC Braga 🇵🇹, a quintiessential Europa League side, and a League Phase finish to be pleased with.
-Genk 🇧🇪 v SC Freiburg 🇩🇪 could be the underrated tie of the round. Belgians gone quietly about their business this campaign, little difference between these two in the League Phase table...
-Finally, a rematch at the City Ground. Have Nottingham Forest 🏴 learnt from the errors of Matchday 2? Danger of the media again ignoring just how good this FC Midtjylland 🇩🇰 team is...
This weekend we were in Brussels.
We stayed near Brussels Nord which was not very pleasant. Which was a real shame.
Mechelen v Zulte Waregem
Anderlecht v OH Leuven
Both were quality. Last min winner for Mechelen and pyro and some atmosphere at the Lotto Stadium
@seanmills6 Yeah both very nice. Loved the area outside the lotto stand with the food and drink stands.
But Nord was really bad. Really dodgy, couldn't wait to get out.
@seanmills6 Very sketchy. We got dropped off by our taxi driver at the wrong hotel and has to walk past the red light. First time abroad I felt uneasy and a slight fear for my safety.

We are looking for a town/city/village with decent football. By that we mean plenty of games. Stadiums that are unique or at least have 1 stand.
Decent pubs and bars. Middle aged, so no clubs
