@LargeMarge2024 Been busy. You can look at my Substack if you want to know what I've been dealing with since May last year.
Also, pretty sure I have poop in my hair. Silver lining: the upstairs toilet is flushing again (barely), and the torrential poopwater downfall downstairs is over.
Husband: "X disruptive socioeconomic thing is coming within 5 years."
Me: "I've been TELLING you that for the last 15 years. And NOW you're 'educating' me like it's some epiphany of yours and I had no idea?"
"No, I'm saying you're fugly."
"Yeah. I'm fugly right. Deal with it."
@TexelElf@OwenGregorian Worst first. The prednisone. 15mg and holding, then we cut by ~10% and hold for 2 to 4 weeks.
Pregabalin? That's going to be the difficult one. It's more like a nano-taper. 5% increments.
Withdrawal symptoms for both are similar, so you can't do them at the same time.
@TexelElf@OwenGregorian That's actually pretty cool. A friend has MS. I bet he'd love a one and done.
My daughter is remitting through diet and supplementation. We've begun the process of safely and slowly micro-tapering her off the meds. That will be complicated because she's been on both for so long.
"Yeah, whatever."
"I am so posting this conversation on X."
Laughing: "Yeah, that sounds like you."
"I was right. You know it, I know it, and I knew it before you knew it, and you know I knew it before you knew it."
"Okay."
"I'ma hang up now. Need to make a post on X."
@Will_C_d_V@pearlythingz It's not a rant. If she were to post the recipes, I could tell her what she's doing right and what she's doing wrong for what she wants to get done.
The drumsticks are right. Egg bites sound good, depending on what else is in them.
@pearlythingz@Will_C_d_V Counting calories is a fool's game. I'm guessing you're part Nordic/Scandinavian part Gaelic/Celtic. Maybe a little Genghis Khan and Siberian peasant thrown in? I'm guessing 4-5% Neanderthal DNA.
I could put together a meal plan for you. Eat what you want, when you want.
Goddamn it. I posted a link that wasn't actually public. Why, Substack? Why did you have to "improve" yourself?
Update on my daughter.

@AaronMConner She's taking probiotics, L-glutamine, collagen peptides, zinc carnosine, MCT oil, D3, K2, calcium, magnesium, folate, etc etc. No extra potassium, because type 1. We keep an eye on her labs.
Gut die-off? All the antibiotics did that and then some. We're repopulating.
@RachelWeissman9 Sorry. Sorry. But it was doctors who did this to her. I'm the one who noticed, and started undoing and reversing it and then told them what it was (they all agree).
"I'ma refer you to a dietician..." Because what? So they can put her back on 60% carbs a day?
Sorry. Ranting.
@RachelWeissman9 It won't be speedy. She FINALLY saw the gastro last month (referred in July). I told her if they ordered her to do another gluten challenge for confirmation, tell them to GFY.
The gastro confirmed based on the history, and referred her to a dietician. Because fuck me, I guess.
@RachelWeissman9 She has multiple reconstruction projects going on. Her gut, her feet, her kidneys, her bones and her immune system. Also, her hair. Because dignity.
She's walking almost like a normie now. And wearing socks. Cut her pain meds 50%, and is self-tapering off prednisone.
@RachelWeissman9 Oh yeah. K2, zinc carnosine, L-glutamine, calcium, double vitamin C & B12, omega-3, magnesium, 15k IU of D3/day, collagen peptides, MCT oil, anti-inflammatory diet, and 70-80% of her 4000/day calorie intake from animal fat and protein.
We're keeping an eye on her serum levels.
@RachelWeissman9 Other than them almost killing her AGAIN, she's doing okay. We went strict gluten-free in September. Improving daily. Her hair is even starting to grow back. Her teeth and bones? We're trying to redirect calcium there, and away from her kidneys.
She's okay. For now.
@manufanatic99@scrowder Well, that was sweet of him. Sane men, when you lay out the facts without spin or emotion? They'll be like, "actually, now that I think about it..."
@osh_rob73959@shesrideordie Your stats are skewed. "He's an abuser" is basically, "She was just having a bad day."
A pub in Scotland switched from kilts to pants back in I think 2015ish b/c women wouldn't stop groping the male servers. You think they made it into the stats? The women weren't even arrested.
