The INSPIRE Project is supporting smallholder farmers in Uganda to boost productivity, adopt sustainable land-use practices, and drive inclusive development.
Recently, Naomi Wyles, GOAL’s Deputy Regional Director for Africa, visited Luuka District to meet with Participatory Integrated Planning (PIP) communities that are already improving their farming systems and embracing new technologies.
One example was Mr. Nsubuga Wycliff, a 35-year-old lead farmer hosting an Irrigation Learning Site, where 30 local farmers tested low-cost irrigation methods and compared traditional practices with improved ones, leading to higher yields and stronger resilience.
“INSPIRE is a journey where households and communities act as agents of their transformation, shaping the direction of change,” said Naomi. “I look forward to seeing the results of Wycliff’s and the community’s hard work.”
GOAL Uganda’s Country Director, Dawit Beyene, thanked the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Uganda for their continued support in making this impact possible.
