The New Power Law
A business valued between $100B and $1T has a higher statistical likelihood (31%) of multiplying its value by 10x compared to smaller, earlier-stage unicorns (8%).
The mind is a powerful place and what you feed it can affect you in a powerful way
How @tobi got over his fear of public speaking:
“I was terrified of public speaking until I sat down for like a week and every day I spent ten minutes just writing that I like public speaking.”
“ If you tell yourself or write something down 100 times about yourself, that writes it into the prefrontal cortex at such a deep level that your brain will start reconciling you to that.”
“It’s not a placebo. You actively change your prefrontal cortex.”
One of the most surprising ideas from my conversation with Rick Rubin is how he thinks about himself:
“I think of myself as a researcher.”
“I have a fanatical devotion to finding the best version of everything I’m interested in.”
“Anything I'm interested in I want to know everything about it.”
“I'll go on forever going deeper and deeper and deeper into a topic.”
“What I do most of the time is research. I’m curious.”
The PS2 era had this perfect middle ground where games were big enough to feel ambitious, but still simple enough to just start playing and have fun immediately.

The British people are fed up and have had enough. The establishment has lost control
🚨 BILL GURLEY: “I would encourage people to read as much as they can about Anthropic … I don't think they think they're writing software. I think they're midwifing a deity.”

Palantir CEO Alex Karp on how China operates vs the US:
“In the West, we actually care when humans die.”
“China or Russia—Russia’s lost 700,000 people in Ukraine. They don’t care.”
“We don’t care if we lose a piece of steel, we do if we lose a human.”

Artificial intelligences do not undergo experiences, do not possess a body, do not feel joy or pain, do not mature through relationships, and do not know from within what love, work, friendship or responsibility mean. Nor do they have a moral conscience, since they do not judge good and evil, grasp the ultimate meaning of situations, or bear responsibility for consequences. They may imitate or even simulate, but they do not understand what they produce, for they lack the affective, relational, and spiritual perspective through which human beings grow in wisdom. #MagnificaHumanitas
🇷🇺 Putin is spending $26 billion trying to live forever, and the methods sound like science fiction...
Remember that hot-mic moment last September when Putin told Xi humans could achieve immortality by replacing their organs?
Turns out he wasn't musing. He was describing an actual Kremlin flagship project.
Russia's longevity initiative includes 3D-printing living human tissue, growing transplantable organs inside genetically compatible mini-pigs, cryotherapy chambers that drop to minus 170 degrees, and a new gene therapy designed to slow cellular aging.
The stated goal is full human organ replacement by 2030.
It puts Putin in the same race as Silicon Valley titans like Bezos, Altman, and Thiel, who are pouring fortunes into beating aging.
The difference is that in Russia, the pursuit of immortality is now an official state priority, led in part by Putin's own daughter, an endocrinologist.
At 73, Putin has spent decades projecting the image of an ageless strongman.
Now we're learning just how far he's willing to go to make it real.
