Yesterday we had a free day of sorts. Nothing was planned. So we decided to make the drive from Skibo up to Durness at the prodding of others who have done it. Crystal blue skies and low 70’s made our decision even better. It’s 2.5 hrs north of Dornoch. The drive is primarily one lane the whole way. It is remote. But it is one of the most stunning scenic drives I’ve ever done. Simply breathtaking.

The golf course at Durness is a true Scottish treat. It’s as rugged as you can get with the last hole being a par three over a cavern. Just awesome. I wanted to be included in the diehards that have made the trek to go up there. So glad we did. If you are making a trip to the Highlands and want to do something a little off the grid, do yourself the favor of making the drive up to Durness. I promise you will not regret it.
