It’s @rydercup week. Here are the key points on Golf and Health. Significant overall benefits, and much can be done to maximise benefits via @BJSM_BMJ@EdinburghUni https://t.co/I6wUOyIc2K
Here’s the secret hiding in plain sight: golf is exercise. Walking 18 holes covers roughly 4-5 miles - often more than 11,000 steps - and can burn up to 2,000 calories. Play 150 minutes a week and you’ve met the World Health Organization’s guideline for moderate activity, the amount linked to lower risk of heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes. Same game you love. Serious health in every round.

Single leg hip hinge
The ‘Hip hinge’ is a type of movement used to help generate power through the hips & develop the big posterior chain muscles. The same movement mechanics are used in many exercises such as the deadlift
It is a great movement pattern for people to perform & has many variations including this contralateral Kettlebell version shown by @DPWorldTour@PGATOUR & @RyderCupEurope pro @TommyFleetwood1 here this week @BMWPGA
