Hey fellow book lovers and environmental change makers, do I have the book for you!
RECYCLE THIS BOOK isn’t a newly published book, in fact, it was published in 2009, a year before I was born. But, when I saw the instagram reel @dangutmanbooks shared about the eco-themed book he edited, I knew I had to get my hands on a copy! RECYCLE THIS BOOK: 100 TOP CHILDREN’S AUTHORS TELL YOU HOW TO GO GREEN shares 100 children’s authors’ thoughts, feelings, and actions on how, why, and what they are doing to save the planet.
In my opinion, RECYCLE THIS BOOK hasn’t received nearly enough attention or love, and I’m hoping to change that! My goal is to show you how important and flat-out amazing this book is by reading aloud some of my favorite chapters. I’m kicking off the book celebration on page 46 with PLUNGER-MAN by #mglit writing legend Gordon Kerman!
A few more of the amazing contributors are Lois Lowry
@rickriordan@hwinkler4real@seymoursimon and Shannon Hale.
I hope you’ll be inspired as much as I am to tell people about this unique book, and maybe even find a copy to read yourself! The book is currently out of print unfortunately, so there are not many copies available to purchase in the world at this time, but there’s always your local library and used bookstores!
STAY TUNED FOR PART 2 of RECYCLE THIS BOOK!
👉🏼Thank you, author Dan Gutman, for creating a book that is just as meaningful today as it was when it was published. Its message of caring for our planet deserves to be remembered and shared with new generations of readers.
Thanks for supporting my E Train Talks literacy & Earth initiatives!

I LOVE PHOTOBASHING!!!!
here's my favorites I've made (yes all of them are characters by @gordonkorman )
In order of when the were made too!
Mason Rolle (ODO, 17, timeline 1), Parker Elias (Unteachables), Carter Peregrine (Snoop), Donovan Curtis (Gifted series)
Finished SNOOP by @gordonkorman & thought it had a great modern take on what snooping looks like today. And though even though you can, doesn’t mean you should. Loved the inclusion of drones, live streaming, etc. A modern tale of a modern teen snoop. Check it out in the Library!
