Governor of Colorado. Fighting for affordable health care, better education, an economy that works for everyone, and protecting our Colorado way of life.
Community solar - one of the least expensive energy sources – is already helping Coloradans save money on energy bills and build out our clean energy resources that protect clean air and provide much-needed energy capacity as our economy and energy needs grow. The six new sites in the Lowry Community Solar Projects build on our investments at the state level to make it easier and more affordable for Coloradans to access solar energy production.
When it comes to getting the prescription drugs needed to be healthy and thrive, too many Coloradans face too many barriers – like high out-of-pocket costs. SB26-167 will help people save money by ensuring that Coloradans with insurance can access less expensive drugs from sources like direct-to-consumer platforms.
Colorado remains one of the nation’s best economies because we invest in people, innovation, and opportunity. Companies choose Colorado for our talented workforce, high quality of life, and a business environment that supports growth. By harnessing the economic power of people who want to be here, work here, and build a better life, we can fill in-demand jobs, support employers, and strengthen communities. That’s how we build a Colorado for All.
Today I was proud to sign two bipartisan laws to help make Colorado safer for everyone.
HB26-1009: Builds on our work to make Colorado one of the safest states by clarifying the steps law enforcement take when responding to instances of domestic violence. This includes connecting the highest risk victims with resources known as community-based-victim advocates.
SB26-015: We must ensure that criminals are held accountable, and that’s never more imperative than when we’re talking about crimes involving children. This law modernizes statutes to ensure that law enforcement and prosecutors in Colorado have every tool in the toolbox to bring perpetrators of these heinous crimes to justice.
Today, Colorado is taking action to make healthcare more affordable and accessible. I signed HB26-1069, HB26-1262, and SB26-178 – all of which will help increase access and reduce costs for Coloradans.
SB26-178 strengthens Colorado’s health insurance affordability, including reinsurance and premium support, to help keep coverage more stable and save people money. While HB26-1069 and HB26-1262 support our emergency responders and protect access to the medications and medical devices that Coloradans rely on.
Together, these laws mean better care, more choices, and lower costs for Coloradans.
Today, alongside Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera, I signed a new law that takes the latest step to build a Colorado for All, where every person can thrive. Supporting Coloradans with disabilities means investing in opportunity, independence, and inclusion. This bipartisan new law protects funding generated through Colorado’s specialty disability license plates, strengthens the work of the Colorado Disability Opportunity Office, and provides additional support for vocational rehabilitation services that help Coloradans connect with meaningful employment and resources.
I signed a new law that strengthens Colorado’s efforts to prevent and reduce homelessness through cities working closer together through greater regional collaboration and smarter planning. By supporting a statewide homelessness strategy, giving communities new tools to work together, and expanding options for housing people can afford, this new law helps create a more coordinated approach to addressing homelessness and housing across Colorado.
Colorado is so proud of our vibrant, talented arts and culture communities which are key to our economy and way of life. Today I signed a bipartisan new law making Colorado the first state in the nation to create “A - Corps,” a new business structure designed specifically for artists. This innovative law helps artists create, collaborate, and grow.
Thank you to the bipartisan sponsors and advocates whose creative work helped make Colorado an even better place for artists to live, work, and thrive.
Colorado is known for our world class outdoors and natural beauty that we love and that draws visitors from around the world. This new guide will provide Coloradans and visitors alike with a map of the constellations to experience the beauty and wonder of our night skies and support our local tourism economies.
With more than 20 certified International Dark Sky Parks and Communities and dozens more pursuing certification, Colorado continues to lead the way in protecting dark skies and expanding opportunities to explore the stars.

Congratulations to Stepping Stones Academy on the opening of its new facility, meeting the strong demand for high-quality child care with five new classrooms to serve Colorado’s youngest learners. Colorado is expanding access to high-quality early childhood education and child care, saving families money, giving children a strong start, and strengthening Colorado’s workforce and economy for years to come.
In Colorado we are harnessing geothermal energy – the heat beneath our feet– to provide reliable, clean, low-cost energy and help protect Coloradans from the unpredictable cost of gas. I signed a new law to boost low-cost, innovative clean energy solutions like geothermal to save Coloradans money on energy and protect our environment. Colorado is open and ready for geothermal business and we welcome innovative clean energy solutions to make energy more affordable, sustainable, and reliable.
A year ago, the attack in Boulder targeted a peaceful group of Jewish Coloradans and shook our entire state. Today, we remember Karen Diamond, those who were injured, their loved ones, and the Boulder community that continues to heal from that horrific act of hate.
A Colorado for All means standing together against antisemitism, against hate, and against violence aimed at any community. Our Jewish neighbors are an essential part of Colorado, and we will continue working to make sure every person can live, worship, gather, and march safely and freely in our state.
In our Colorado for all, everyone can be who they are without being subject to hateful and ineffective conversion therapy. Conversion Therapy can be harmful, traumatizes kids, and is a scam to waste people's hard-earned money. To kick off Pride month, I signed a new law that provides Coloradans who have been subject to this dehumanizing treatment with the tools to heal and move on to live strong, healthy and authentic lives. I also took action to ensure that no taxpayer funds are wasted on these scams.
Saving students money on textbooks is one important way we are making it more affordable for students to get a great education through college and technical school.
I challenged Colorado colleges and universities to find ways for courses, and even entire degrees, to provide textbooks at zero cost to students, and today, Colorado has over 2,000 courses with zero textbook cost, and nearly 20 full degrees with zero textbook costs.
We’ve already saved students over $77 million - and counting!
The 2026 Zero Textbook Cost Challenge Awards honor the educators, institutions, and innovators who are leading these efforts to save students money while getting a high-quality education.
Congratulations to this year’s award recipients and thank you to the Colorado Department of Higher Education, the OER Council, and educators across the state for helping reduce costs and create more opportunity for Colorado students.
Colorado is training the people who help our youngest learners grow and thrive. We are helping our early childhood workforce build stronger skills so they can support Colorado students in fulfilling their potential. Every Colorado family deserves access to quality early childhood education and care, and we’re proud to build a stronger future for kids, parents, and educators alike.
This week, I signed a bipartisan bill to help make Colorado roads safer for both people and wildlife. This new voluntary program will support wildlife crossings, fencing, and other proven infrastructure that reduces collisions, protects habitat, and helps save drivers money on repairs and insurance costs.
While federal EV tax credits have ended, Colorado is leading the way with state incentives that make electric vehicles more affordable for working families. From rebates on new and used EVs to helping lower-income Coloradans trade in older gas vehicles, Colorado is expanding cleaner transportation options while helping residents save money on fuel and maintenance over time.
