Weekend attendance at the 2026 #ItalianGP exceeded 400,000 for the first time in Monza's long history on the F1 calendar. The circuit reported a total attendance of 404,366. Attendance was up in 2026 by around 34,000 on the previous year’s figure.

The Italian Grand Prix is the fourth F1 weekend in 2026 to have had a weekend attendance of 400,000 or more, after Britain (564,000), Australia (483,934) and Belgium (400,000). Last year, the Monza race ended the season as the fifth best-attended race weekend. It could rise as high as third in 2026, though the Mexico City Grand Prix – which last year had a total attendance of 401,300 – is likely to welcome an expanded crowd in 2026 thanks to Sergio Perez’s return to the grid with Cadillac.

On home soil back in 1999, at the San Marino Grand Prix in Italy, Mika Hakkinen crashed out of the lead and the Tifosi celebrated as Michael Schumacher scored a very popular victory. Károly Méhes recounts the race weekend:

"On the Enzo e Dino Ferrari Circuit, McLaren-Mercedes had a front row lockout with Häkkinen and Coulthard. Schumacher was only third. The big surprise was the third row of the grid with Jacques Villeneuve in his new BAR followed by Barrichello in a Stewart. Many were sceptical about Villeneuve leaving Williams to sign for a brand new team. Perhaps some advice from former Champion Jody Scheckter, who turned up in the Paddock, gave him a boost.

Sunday brought sunshine for Ferrari. Polesitter Häkkinen had built a commanding lead before making a costly mistake, crashing against the concrete wall at the entrance of the start/finish line. The wrecked McLaren came to a stop on the grass verge, opposite the pits. A cheering crowd awaited as Mika climbed out of his “office”, handing over the lead to Schumacher, who kept it till the chequered flag."

Most grandstand ticket prices for the Italian Grand Prix have risen by 10-15% from 2025 to 2026, though General Admission and the cheapest bleacher seats have stayed at the same price. Despite price increases, Monza still sells the seventh cheapest tickets of the season, according to our 2026 Formula 1 Ticket Price Ranking.

John from the USA attended the #ItalianGP in 2024 with a General Admission ticket. Here are his tips for getting the most from your time at the track:

▪️ If you don’t want a long walk & have GA tickets, the train to Biassono Lesmo is the best option.
▪️ Bring lots of snacks and some 500ml bottles, and fill them up any chance you get
▪️ Bring a small blanket for the grass or grandstands so you’re not burning on the metal!
▪️ Get there early if you want a good spot!!
▪️ Do your research and everything will go great
▪️ Have FUN! #F1

Nevena from Poland attended an F1 race at Monza for the first time in 2024 and, as a Ferrari fan, it was a special weekend:

"Friday is a good day to familiarize yourself with the track, to find the shortest queues for food and drink, and the best places to get some shade. The trackside views were excellent, and this is the first track I’ve been to where even the general admission areas have viewing platforms. I had tickets for the Parabolica grandstand and I loved the views from there so much that I bought 2025 tickets for the same area. There’s an entrance gate nearby, it’s close to the fan zone, and there are lots of food and drink stalls nearby.

I loved the historical car demonstrations and the sound of the old engines ringing in my ears. The atmosphere was out of this world. Ferrari winning and singing the Italian anthem (I am not even Italian!), waiting one hour afterwards for Charles and Carlos and celebrating with them. It was an incredible feeling. I have never experienced such passion before on a track and I don’t think many can say they have. It was a fairytale-like experience, everyone was so excited and the party in Monza went on for many hours after the race finished. I cannot wait to be back and I think I will become a regular." #F1

There was good news for Monza's future earlier this year. In April, it was confirmed that local authorities had approved a series of renovation plans to keep the track on the F1 calendar long into the future.

Work in the coming years will see a permanent roof built over the pit building, a new race control centre constructed, plus upgraded to the circuit's press room. Monza - which has appeared on the F1 calendar in every season since the sport's inauguration except 1980 - currently holds a contract to stay on the schedule until at least 2031. #F1

After widening the corner in 2022, Turn 3 has presented drivers with another overtaking opportunity, and the Ricciardo Grandstand puts fans in the box seat.

Best accessed via Gate 2, the Ricciardo Grandstand has superscreen viewing available and is only a short walk from Albert Park’s Melbourne Junction and Lakeside precincts. Premium seats are available in the Ricciardo Grandstand at an additional cost. Premium seats are undercover but do not provide full weather protection.

The tenth edition of the race on the streets of Baku is coming up next month! The last tickets are now on sale for the 2026 #AzerbaijanGP. 3-day prices start from $210 for General Admission tickets. 4-day tickets in the Absheron (Main) and Icheri Sheher grandstands are also available.

This year's race weekend concerts at Crystal Hall will be headlined by Katy Perry and Calvin Harris. Entrance is free for holders of 4-day race tickets, who are also entitled to attend a public pit lane walk on Wednesday, September 23.

The concert line-up for the 2026 #AbuDhabiGP is filling up, with The Script and The Chainsmokers the latest acts to be confirmed! They'll join Lewis Capaldi, Zara Larsson and Imagine Dragons for this year's series of post-race concerts, which run from Thursday to Sunday.

Meanwhile, back in June, it was announced that legendary Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will be bringing his Romanza anniversary tour to Yas Island as part of Yasalam Classics. The brand new concert series will feature a range of classic artists, and will take place at Etihad Arena on Wednesday, December 2. Bocelli is the first of a number of artists to be announced for the event. He will be accompanied by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.

How much will a trip to the upcoming #BahrainGP in Malaysia cost? We've crunched the numbers!

When it last featured on the calendar in 2017, prices for tickets in Malaysia were the cheapest of the whole season, and attendance was poor. Fast forward nine years and Sepang International Circuit is set to make an unexpected (and much more popular) return to the F1 calendar. The Bahrain promoter is responsible for setting ticket prices, and they are broadly similar to those found at Bahrain International Circuit, itself offering some of the cheapest tickets on the current F1 calendar. Unfortunately, the launch of ticket sales was compromised by much higher than expected demand for tickets, which saw the Bahrain GP website crash or forced fans to wait in line for hours.

Away from the track, Kuala Lumpur is very affordable for such a popular travel destination. Hotel rooms are sure to be inflated on race weekend, but are still much cheaper than in neighboring Singapore. Eating out is also very affordable in Malaysia, though alcohol is highly taxed in this Muslim-majority country.

There was a record crowd in attendance for the final #DutchGP weekend, with 325,000 fans attending across the three days. This year's attendance figure was up by 20,000 on last year's number.

Although the Dutch Grand Prix’s 2021 return had a limited capacity and a total attendance of 195,000 over three days, when the pandemic-related capacity limits were removed in 2022, attendance grew to 305,000. The same figure was reported for the 2023, 2024 and 2025 races, with the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix seeing attendance grow by 20,000.

The 2026 Dutch Grand Prix, which saw Zandvoort run F1’s Sprint format for the first time, was the sport’s final visit to the track. Race organisers announced in December 2024 that they had opted to not renew their deal with Formula 1 as a result of financial considerations.
