I’m always a little extra proud to be a Mainer on July 2nd.

On this day in 1863, the 20th Maine Volunteer Regiment stood on the battlefield at Gettysburg.

Against the odds and nearly out of ammunition, they fixed their bayonets and charged ahead, securing a victory that helped turn the tide of the Civil War.

Mainers have never been afraid to fight for a better America.
