It was a great night, credit to to @MatthewOToole2@SDLPlive councillors who were there & the Lord Mayor. Looking over @JonBurrowsMLA shoulder his foot was definitely tapping as well. Well done @BelfastBands for working with Fleadh, looking forward to see what they do next year
Taoiseach Micheál Martin was among those in the 1,500-strong crowd as the thumping of Lambeg drums and the melody of flutes rang out along the Titanic Slipways during a historic night of musical traditions.

It has been great to watch the acceptance of Ulster-Scots cultural traditions at what is explicitly an Irish arts festival.
Yesterday I heard pipers play Killaloe, the regimental march of the Royal Irish, a British Army regiment.
No one complained. Unthinkable 30 years ago.
A food business has apologised for “any offence caused” after a video circulated online appearing to show pro-IRA music being played from their van at the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Belfast.

While others want to drag Belfast backwards, our culture is firmly on the front foot.
Tonight proved that as we took to the stage with the Ulster Orchestra at the Ulster Hall.
It's another milestone that shows our music, and, our culture, belong on the biggest stages. 🎶💙
The best interview I've done in ages. What a fantastic kid! And him only 16 years old. The future is bright! 👏
Massive credit and thanks to @OhYeahCentre & @thekabinstudio 🎤🎸🎻
Lambeg Drums parading towards Kelly's Cellar at the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Béal Feirste. Just proof that times are really changing. I couldn't imagine this let alone a Fleadh in Belfast when I was younger.👍🥁🎻🪕🪗🇮🇪😉👍

⚠️🗣NEW: ‘Devastating’ government cuts could threaten 400 jobs.
📍Hundreds gathered on the steps of Stormont today to hear a call from the Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action.
They say they are being pushed to “breaking point” following the UK Government’s decision to cut annual revenue funding for the Local Growth Fund from £25 million to £9.2 million from April 2026.
The sector is calling on the government to reverse the decision and protect services for the future.
Our reporter @SFletcherJourno was there.
