I believe people in the tech industry should study how the music industry evolved.
Everything happening in tech seems to follow almost the same playbook.
Music has been in existence since the beginning of time.
Moved from recording live performances and selling tapes to you being able to record and distribute right from your room.
It didn’t still make everyone a musician.
Even musicians hire producers to get their concepts out.
You now have to wear multiple hats as a software engineer.
You are not allowed to say “I don’t write frontend” when presented with one as a backend engineer.
You’re expected to know a lot or at least be able to figure it out.
Nobody cares about your title that much anymore. Just ship!
It is overwhelming and stressful especially for people who have been specialists in the industry before now.
They’ve gotta adapt somehow.
