Proposal Analytics is collecting grant proposals to see why they pass (or fail!) the review process. From this, we generate tips and improve the grant process.
#Failure is a part of research.
Proposal Analytics, @FailurePhoenix and the @wellcometrust are working to not only normalize failure - but also understand it better.
To help us, fill out the #failuresurvey here: https://t.co/KQZ4V3LGOZ
It was wonderful to talk to @rlalasz about Grimpact. It’s conceptualisation changes every day during our new normal but look out for the paper in the Special Edition of Research Evaluation dedicates to our much missed collaborator and friend @heravalue.
One of the last events of #ISSI2021 is a panel by some of the coolest people I know discussing the future of research on research.
Starting statements are that RoR researchers have varied fields of origin, & that helps make the field a little more interdisciplinary and creative.
The best indicator of community growth was the appearance of visiting 🦊- improving the treat scores of the community by almost 30%!
So if you want to recruit some 🦊 to your field, here's a couple ideas of what might be attracting them:
So in a community, you have about 30% 🦊, split into those who are residents in the community, migrating in and out of it, or just touching on the subject briefly.
There's another 25% that are 🦔and 20% 🐦
Proposal Analytics is showing our work at #issi2021!
@KevinBoyack is a panelist in several workshops in Bradford 1, @alesszimm has an asynchronous talk in Nalimov you can visit anytime and Dick Klavans has an invited talk tomorrow morning (for EST ppl)
See you around!

Great work by @JeroenBaas using @Scopus data with @IntCtrStudyRes computing resources! Jeroen can spin data into gold faster than most of us can think!
A recently published paper on the role of gender in mentorship in science has triggered a lot of debate. @vtraag and @LudoWaltman contribute to this debate by emphasizing the importance of understanding the underlying causal mechanisms. @cwtsleiden https://t.co/ylGYkSwaRG
Happy to say that we @cwtsleiden contributed to the development of the Citation Topics of InCites @webofscience, powered by our Leiden clustering algorithm! Hopefully this is useful to many users of WoS. We would be happy to hear about your experience!

Blog post on 'measuring' interdisciplinarity by our board member @IsmaelRafols https://t.co/M0aNonJYhN; this post discusses two papers published recently in @QSS_ISSI https://t.co/rhJQPm8G2Q https://t.co/bFVwEY5FbT
If we care about responsible research assessment, we need to rethink how university rankings are constructed and used. My thoughts published in @nature today.
