We recently rolled out an update to the AI Chat inside Studio.

Instead of maintaining a separate implementation, we migrated the experience to run on top of our AI Chat plugin. In other words, we’re dogfooding the plugin ourselves.

This approach helps us improve two things at the same time:
• the AI experience inside the Studio editor
• the capabilities of the AI Chat plugin itself

As part of this update, we also introduced more customization options and built-in capabilities, including an easier way to integrate tools like image generation and real-time web search.

If you’re building AI-assisted workflows inside editors or web apps, this should make integrations much more flexible.

We just shipped something new in Grapes Studio: Data Sources (beta) 👀

It’s basically a built-in database per project, created instantly.
You can define your tables, add rows, and update content, directly from the editor. Think of it as a very lightweight, CMS-like integration.

Once the data is there, you can connect it to your pages (connected via GrapesJS API) and keep building visually on top of it.

The nice part:
Pages using Data Sources are still fully static. So they stay fast, SEO-friendly, and avoid all the risks of running servers/databases behind it.

This is an early beta. The feature set is intentionally simple for now, but it already covers common cases (for example, a basic blog).

We have lots of ideas for where this could go (external data sources, more power, more flexibility), but first, we want to validate if this actually resonates.
