@henrywinter Legal dispute? It’s a game of football where we should accept the refs decision. Get rid of VAR. End this nonsense before all match-going fans give up.
@MarkOgden_ “Football” did not want VAR. journalists and TV pundits wanted VAR. Match-going fans knew it would be like this. Basically re-refereeing 50:50 decisions which are open to interpretation. TV and VAR have ruined football. @FA_PGMOL
You have got to laugh, even though I’d prefer Arsenal to win it, how many goals they’ve scored from precisely that situation going back to the first weekend of the season.
Now they were ironically up in arms, and this most rugby-esque of football seasons fittingly decided by a TMO call.
@OllieHolt22 Agree. Just one more to add and that is VAR have ignored similar incidents on goalkeepers all season and it started on day 1 with a push and holding Bayindir’s arm. VAR has improved nothing about the game or the amount of decisions that are correct. Many are 50:50
Footage from 1968 showing Bobby Charlton, George Best, and the Manchester United squad casually knocking the ball around in training at The Cliff. 📽️
An unbelievable glimpse into football history—truly special to watch.
You’ve got the best two youth teams in England meeting in the FA Youth Cup final.
The idea that it’s played in a 6,000 capacity stadium at MCFC is such a shame. 60,000 would watch this game if it was done right.
@Lozzer_H@AndyMitten Same at all the big PL clubs. All greedy owners trying to make loads of money whilst @SkySportsPL don’t care when the game is and how much disruption it causes match going fans. Fans of all clubs need to get together to stop the game dying.
@UKFootyBible Thought they might be able to get him because they thought he might want a chance of winning the league. But he took the easy option and stayed in a mid table team.
@talkdants Match going fans hate it. It was thrust upon us & begged for by @SkySports & TV analysts saying it would correct clear errors. But they just re-referee games very inconsistently & give offsides from inaccurate positions & stills & then red cards for accidental hair bobble pulls
Eric Cantona on stadium names:
"Every stadium today is named Emirates or Allianz. These stadiums have lost the spirit and history of their clubs.
Thankfully, Manchester United still plays at Old Trafford, and Anfield has kept its name. Can you imagine renaming Old Trafford after a brand? If that ever happens, I’m sorry, but I won’t be a fan of the club anymore, and I’ll walk away from football forever."
Marcelo Bielsa: "I am sure that football is in a process of decline.
"It is becoming less and less attractive because what made it the best game in the world is not there anymore.
"If you let a lot of people watch football, but you don't protect the pleasure of what they watch, that favours business, because the business is that a lot of people watch football.
"For me, the introduction of technology like VAR does a lot of harm to football.
"This sport has a particularity: when it becomes completely predictable, it loses its appeal.
"As time passes, as fewer and fewer footballers are worth watching and as the game produced is less and less enjoyable, this artificial increase in the number of spectators will be interrupted."
@The_Forty_Four Semi finals should NEVER be at Wembley the end. City are not the huge club they aim to be yet, but they are frequent visitors & have had a lot of success recently. But the fact that there is no prize at the end & the total cost means this is more likely to happen. Blame @FA
