@md_frost Way too many "med twitter" people almost appear like AI driven bots that deliver hot-takes on the latest issue in the news (to your point - diverse, unrelated, likely require deep context to understand). It's disheartening.
Proud of our study at @UHN@UofTFamilyMed in the @BioMedCentral on the influence of connecting medical students with isolated seniors!
shout out to Noah Crampton, Laure Perrier, Sabrina Akhtar and Soumia not on twitter.

R/T @CBCQueensPark: “It's pretty difficult, challenging times…The…sickness level of our patients is far higher than it has ever been…our hospital is running well over 100 per cent capacity pretty much every day." https://t.co/KtQn5xLZS6 @arcandandrew@LisaEsther6@ErinBearss
Noticing an increasing number of unfilled family medicine positions in the #CARMS2022 match.
For anyone that has not matched in the first round and is considering #FamilyMedicine please do not hesitate to direct message me here on Twitter and I am happy to chat.
@tara_kiran Hopeful as well, but this is disheartening! Do we have a decent understanding of some of the key drivers for this drift? I'm not as involved with undergrads but I want to help more pursue family medicine!
Best of luck to everyone in the #CARMS2022 match!
Two things:
1. Your identity is more diverse and robust than where you match.
2. Residency is > med school and staff life is > residency.
Lots to look forward to!
@md_frost Great take and I’ve always appreciated your capacity for nuance and complexity! I think more “extreme” political views, one way or the other certainly cloud judgement and make the actual job of being a regular old doctor more challenging, esp in this climate
We deal with blood, guts, resuscitation, end of life, babies, elderly, having difficult conversations, saving lives on little to no sleep sometimes. You can’t intimidate us, we are built of stronger stuff.
Shout out to all of the medical students applying to #CARMS2022 today.
The match result does not define you and every residency program has pros and cons.
Enjoy the ride because the days are long but the years are short! @CaRMS_CA
someone needs to give @ASPphysician a nobel prize or the Canadian equivalent. The weekly emails are incredibly informative and balanced. The stamina to keep going is inspiring. If you don't subscribe you should:

My take on breaks/vacations.. you either:
A) schedule them, look forward to them and truly enjoy them. Or,
B) don’t schedule, become overtired, burnt out and ‘need’ a vacation to recover, which is less enjoyable.
Either way - everyone needs a break.
@ErinBearss I try to explain that moderna has a higher dose than Pfizer, which in people over the age of 30, benefit from in terms of reducing risk of severe COVID19. I also usually explain it's my job to help people and I wouldn't give a harmful therapy, which also tends to help
@IrfanDhalla Thank you for the reply! Couldn't agree more... same goes for DKA/HHS, ACS, various autoimmune conditions etc... I feel like we are just at the beginning of navigating the bread and butter chronic diseases in the context of COVID19.
