Every generation, they took away a privilege you had for free, and made you pay for itš
ā They took away backwards compatibility, and made you either repurchase games digitally, buy their remasters or through PlayStation Plus, even though itās been proven recently that PS2 and soon PS3 games can run from disc on jailbroken PS5
ā They made you pay for PS+ to be able to play online and to seamlessly transfer saves, even though you could do that with USB before and you can play online for free on PC
ā They normalized games being $70 to justify their fishy hundreds of millions budgets and 7 years bloated development cycles for games that are graphics first; everything else later; even though many $50 games or even $70 with $60 to 100m budgets that were even higher in overall quality and shipped every other year from the likes of Capcom games and Clair Obscur
ā Now theyāre trying to gaslight you that discs donāt sell, even though data PROVED them wrong
ā And theyāre trying to gaslight you into thinking you donāt need to own your games, so you can stay at the mercy of their store policies and eventually be tied forever to their subscription services
Just because a company makes a āstatementā doesnāt mean itās true.
They CAN lie. They DO lie. For their own benefits, as thatās the only thing that matters to them, while you donāt.

REPORT: Sony is listening to feedback from players regarding physical mediaš
Kotaku spoke with executive director of Nippon Ichi Software, Kenzo Saruhashi, regarding the future of the physical media on PlayStation.
He stated that they spoke with Sony on the matter, and they are listening to feedback from players.
This feels a bit more promising, as it comes after recent developments that Sony is reportedly surveying developers as well, along with resentment going on in the industry towards Sony, from various studios and publishers, according to John Linneman from Digital Foundry.
We need to keep the pressure
Make your voices heard
PHYSICAL MEDIA MUST SURVIVE

Spurs go to Brentford and get thumped 3-0 deservedly by the better side on opening day and we are the biggest bunch of cunts footballās ever seen Chelsea whoāve actually spent even more than Spurs go to Brentford tonight and deservedly get thumped 3-0 and its just a bad night š¤
Yesterday we learned, thanks to Kotaku who got information from Sony DADC (the facility dedicated to producing discs, that disc production is expecting to decline only 10% rather than by 90%š
Games already on disc will continued to be produced on disc
What does this mean? It means that:
ā Sony is hesitated and unsure
ā There is a way back
ā It is easy to revert the decision
But what does that require?
ā More pressure from fans
ā Vote with your voices and wallets
ā Buy physical games only
ā Make the message crystal clear
Physical media is not just nostalgia, it is:
ā Ownership
ā No reliance on accounts/regions
ā Competitive prices
ā Second-hand market and trading
ā Preservation
ā Collectible value
PLUS, any form of art and entertainment has value in physical presence. You donāt take a picture of the Mona Lisa and pretend itās the real deal, they tried with NFTs and failed miserably.
Aside from that, the ramifications of going fully digital are very dystopian, especially knowing that itās a stepping stone towards pushing for streaming, which Microsoft already wants to cap by hours and give you the option to buy more.
Which means:
āNo ownership of software
āFuture potential for no hardware
āFull reliance on internet speeds
āLimited monthly streaming
āPaying more for more time
āBeing tied to subscriptions
āProbably less quality output of games
āNo concept of generations or leaps
āPredatory monetization
Thatās why our voices, together, PlayStation, XBOX and Nintendo players, are quite important.
Show the industry that you are not children that they can lie to and goad onto the next downgrade in gaming
You are customers and you define your rights because you hold the money, and you get to speak your mind and make changes.
YOU DONāT OWE THEM COMPLIANCE
Your money is a NEED for them
But their games are a WANT for you
You hold the power
So use it and fight for your best interest

REPORT: PlayStation is claimed to be considering delaying their digital-only future because XBOX is willing to go physical next generationš
ā Microsoft is allegedly telling publishers its next console, Project Helix will be entirely physical and will allow users to convert physical games into digital copies.
ā Sony reportedly realized that forcing a digital-only approach leaves a massive opening for competitors to capitalize on consumer demand for physical games.
ā A major unnamed game publisher (confirmed not to be Rockstar) reportedly threatened to skip PlayStation and release their massive upcoming title only on XBOX and Nintendo if Sony couldn't guarantee a physical release.

Day 4 of the PlayStation Blackoutš
Letās refuse some of the weak arguments against physical games:
š£ļøāYou just want physical games for nostalgiaā
ā No. Physical games represent:
A) Ownership
B) Competitive pricing
C) Second hand market & trading
D) No reliance on networks & internet
E) Not tied to a user account
F) Playable worldwide without region lock
G) Collectible value
š£ļøā85% of players buy digitalā
ā 15% or even 5% in this industry is still millions of people bringing in hundreds of millions of not billions o revenue.
Statistics from around the world have also shown us that in the UK, France, Japan and Australia, physical game sales go higher than %40 and %50 for games like Resident Evil and Assassinās Creed Shadows.
š£ļøāNobody buys physical gamesā
ā Several physical games go out of stock for weeks, or ship with a disc that requires downloading more.
Physical games donāt lack interest, they lack genuine support.
š£ļøāNetflix and Spotify ended movie and music Blu-Rays and CDsā
ā Movies are still being sold on Blu-Ray and 4K UHD Blu-Rays, and music is still released on CDs, vinyl records and even collectible cassette tapes that actually work, despite being far smaller and less demanding than video games which can go over 100GB.
Artists sell multiple variants of the same vinyl and CD to boost sales.
š£ļøāI havenāt bought a physical game for 10 years! Itās obsoleteā
ā Your experience with games does not automatically reflect everyone elseās. If you donāt care, donāt get in the way.
š£ļøāItās expensive to make games on discā
ā Games wonāt be cheaper when man all digital. You will pay the same price for a glorified rental that can be taken any time due to licensing agreements or account loss/suspension.
š£ļøāYouāre too broke, you want to buy second hand and resell gamesā
ā Being a bootlicker for corporations that donāt know you exist, does not make you any less broke than those you accuse and posture in front of behind a keyboard
Physical games should always be an option. Video games are far more than just a file to download or āaccessā to gain.
In addition to all the benefits, they hold sentimental value to players and collectors.
