Israel did a targeted assassination tonight, and may have killed Ali al-Amoudi, a higher up in Hamas. But what the Israeli media does not tell you, is that at least 5 women and another young man were killed and that several people are missing in this disaster zone. A price Israel considers perfectly acceptable. Then they will tell you NAZA is not accurate in its portrayal.
I keep getting asked why Yemen’s military has not activated the other fronts against the Houthis.
I spoke to @timourazhari from @Reuters about this yesterday. The problem is not simply opening another front. Anti-Houthi forces remain deeply fractured, with different chains of command, political loyalties and outside backers.
As I told Reuters, “Many anti-Houthi forces are still not organised or prepared for the kind of sustained offensive required to push back a disciplined Houthi military force. And they are being tested right now, as the Houthis apply pressure across several fronts at once.”
That helps explain why, even as the battle for Taiz intensifies, several other fronts remain largely quiet.

The Israeli government is so desperate to try to prevent people from watching Naza that they had to create a propoganda film using the same name and a duplicitous url to confuse people. It reeks of desperation.
I’ve read these reports and it’s worth noting, except for the border, Saudi Arabia will unlikely be sending ground forces into Yemen.
Most sources I speak to seem to have consensus on this matter
The former British home secretary and buddhist daughter of a Kenyan descendant of Goan Catholics, and a Mauritian Hindu descendent of Tamil, born in Harrow, studied in New York, married to a Jewish South African who lived In Israel says multiculturalism has failed.
The point is that @SuellaBraverman is free to define herself as non English, just British, because she hasn’t got white skin.
But she is not free to tell every other person of colour they can’t be English, because that is just a racist dog whistle for unprincipled politicians

At 1pm ET, CNN will air my discussion of CROSSING THE RED LINE w/ @amanpour. Probing horrific Biden-Trump continuity from Gaza to Iran + efforts by US officials to rewrite history & distract from bloodshed with one of the key chroniclers of our era was such a privilege. Tune in🙏🏽
This case keeps getting stranger. Only two posts were made to the suspect’s LinkedIn profile, and both were published in quick succession on Wednesday … about nine hours after the incident.

Israel’s far-right minister Itamar Ben-Gvir says Israel would sell Palestinians to other countries to get rid of them.
In an interview on Israeli Channel 14, the presenter questioned Ben-Gvir about why another country would agree to take Palestinians.
“In exchange for money,” Ben-Gvir replied, saying it would cost Israel a lot but could save money in the defence budget.
The presenter then challenged him: “But they’ll say we’re selling Palestinians.”
Ben-Gvir brushed off the comment and told the reporter to wrap up.
“One official described the situation to me as ‘herd impunity’.”
In his new book Crossing the Red Line, journalist @AkbarSAhmed dives behind the scenes of the Biden administration’s response to the Oct. 7 attack on Israel, and how the US stuck by their ally throughout the war in Gaza, even as the death toll and allegations of war crimes mounted.
Zohran Mamdani on the Gaza genocide: “There’s a book by writer Omar El Akkad: One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This. The reason that stays in my head is it’s such a succinct way of describing the fact that the more years pass, the most people will feel comfortable coming forward and saying that was horrible. And we’ll eventually get to a point where some of the people responsible will start to say that was horrible”
I asked Prince Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, the extraordinary diplomat who leads the International Peace Institute @ipinst, how we can tackle immense global crises while international institutions are under unprecedented assault. Here’s a taste of his response.

"I've spent hours with the President(Biden)", he continued. "When we discussed the Israeli hostages in Gaza, his eyes welled over with tears. When we discussed civilian casualties in Gaza, his mind wandered'".
Very early on, in the days and weeks after October 7, still trying to take my own coordinates, I told a friend, senior in the Biden administration:
"Are you aware that you guys are creating the impression that you believe that 'Israeli lives matter, Palestinian lives matter less'"?
"It's not just an impression", he replied.
"I've spent hours with the President", he continued. "When we discussed the Israeli hostages in Gaza, his eyes welled over with tears. When we discussed civilian casualties in Gaza, his mind wandered'".
It has the ring of truth. Fourty years ago, before my encounter with Jerusalem transformed me, I too would have reacted as Biden did.
