⭐️Turning Higher Education into Opportunity⭐️
The HEA Group is a research and policy organization focused on college access, value, and economic mobility.
The HEA Group turns three this month, and we're taking a moment to reflect on just how much has shifted in the higher education landscape since then!
Thank you to everyone who has championed this work alongside us. More to come!
Call it denial: Many in higher education were hesitant to use data that provided insights into students’ post-graduation earnings.

Our team has been writing about this as early as 2019 when we published "Higher Ed's Broken Bridge to the Middle Class"—showing nearly 1/3 of institutions failed to produce earnings above high school grads, even 10 years later. 5/END

Policy Update: The Education Department will now share earnings data with students after they complete their FAFSA—before they enroll. This is a huge transparency win, but there's more to the story. 1/5 🧵
Important caveat: These data only include graduates, not students who started but never finished. The real earnings picture would be even lower if non-completers were included. 4/5
The HEA Group's body of work focuses on five sophisticated strategic elements: 1⃣Progressive Granularity, 2⃣Data Democratization, 3⃣Accountability Infrastructure, 4⃣Narrative Power, and 5⃣Market Correction. 1/
