Today @WCKitchen lost several of our sisters and brothers in an IDF air strike in Gaza. I am heartbroken and grieving for their families and friends and our whole WCK family. These are people…angels…I served alongside in Ukraine, Gaza, Turkey, Morocco, Bahamas, Indonesia. They are not faceless…they are not nameless. The Israeli government needs to stop this indiscriminate killing. It needs to stop restricting humanitarian aid, stop killing civilians and aid workers, and stop using food as a weapon. No more innocent lives lost. Peace starts with our shared humanity. It needs to start now.

"The Israel-Gaza war has become the deadliest period for journalists covering conflict since CPJ began documenting fatalities in 1992... this deadly toll is coupled with harassment, detentions, and other reporting obstructions in Gaza and the West Bank." https://t.co/9CRfyiMrzG

Journalist Issam Abddalah’s last Instagram post was of Shireen Abu Akleh, a fellow journalist also killed by the Israelis. May both their memories be a blessing and justice be served.

[Mai Shams El-Din @maishams]

Our Reuters colleague Issam Abdallah @LbIssam was killed by an Israeli airstrike in south Lebanon. Issam was the best, the funniest and the smartest. I’m in utter shock. Journalism is not a crime and targeting journalists and witnesses of history is hideous. RIP brother!

There are horrible ways in which human dignity can be violated.
When someone is forced to work without being paid, tricked to selling their organs or dragged into sex work.
It is even worse, when the victim is a child.
Raise awareness.
