A year ago this weekend, @hjacksonracing made her trail racing debut at the Javelina 100. After running fearlessly at the front early, Heather faded a bit near the end, bringing home an impressive 5th place and earning a lot of new fans in the process.

This weekend, Heather is back for another try at Javelina hoping to earn a coveted Golden Ticket to Western States, where she succumbed to a disappointing DNF back in June.

We followed Heather in one of her last training efforts before race day that included a hills + tempo workout in the morning and a shakeout run in the afternoon. Check out the full video on @runfreetrail YouTube channel to get a glimpse into Heather’s training and mindset leading into this weekend’s race.
