Decoding the Myths: Understanding Hindutva and Hindu Organizations in America
https://t.co/ofYLmXOOoF
Rather than “decoding” Hindutva, perhaps it is time to understand it – as an enduring philosophy of inclusivity, respect, and selfless service that continues to enrich societies wherever it takes root and engage with genuine believers and practitioners.

... just as the moon landing hoax thrived because a real moon landing existed, conspiracy theories about HSS seem to persist precisely because HSS successfully made a positive impact on the American society.
Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) USA welcomes the U.S. Department of Justice’s decision to close its investigation without charges against Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) or the Akshardham Temple in Robbinsville, NJ.
The Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh USA (HSS) vehemently condemns the barbaric terrorist assault in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, India on April 22nd, 2025, where innocent Hindu male tourists were isolated, religiously profiled, and brutally murdered in front of their families. This horrific act is not only a crime against individuals and a community but also a vile attack on the very fabric of humanity and civilization, demonstrating a conscious embrace of violence and hatred over peace.
To the families of the victims, we offer our deepest condolences and unshakable support. To the injured, we pray for complete healing. And to the people of Bharat (India), we stand beside you with firm solidarity and profound respect for your courage and resilience.
This heinous act of terror, fueled by a state-sponsored hateful ideology of radical Islamist extremism, starkly exposes the dark forces that continue to undermine global peace and coexistence. It underscores the urgent and critical need for a unified global resolve against these venomous acts and the political powers that enable such instruments of terror.
We appeal to American civic leaders, lawmakers, and society at large to unequivocally stand against terrorism—wherever it manifests—and to support concerted efforts that safeguard innocent lives and promote peace. We urge our members, the broader American Hindu community, interfaith organizations, and all concerned citizens to participate in local vigils and prayers for the victims to attain eternal peace, for solace to the victims’ families, and for a just peace across the globe.

With heavy hearts, HSS USA mourns the passing of Dr. Shankar rao Tatwawadi (92), former international coordinator & esteemed scholar. From his academic career at BHU to his tireless work for global Hindu unity, his life was a beacon of service. His legacy lives on. Om Shanti. #HSS #Hinduism #Nagpur

Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh USA strongly condemns the attack on the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Chino Hills, CA.
In the past 5 years, 15-20 Hindu temples in the U.S. have been vandalized—6 targeting BAPS. No perpetrators have been brought to justice.
This rising hate threatens not just Hindus but American society as a whole. We urge leaders, law enforcement & media to act. #StopHate #ProtectHinduTemples
