Our internal data reveals 🇦🇺 biggest health system is at a breaking point. Nearly six in 10 NSW health workers are close to quitting due to unsafe working conditions, chronic understaffing & a lack of affordable housing & childcare. Health workers deserve better. @HSUNSW#health
Congratulations to the new life members that @HSUNSW announced tonight at the annual conference dinner. Active in looking after members, aged care residents, hospitals, health staff. Well done to the HSU for recognising their contribution.
A very special message from @GerardHayesHSU - the HSU is 50,000 members strong!
We've celebrated some remarkable victories across the board, but this is just the beginning of our journey.
Now is the time to join and make your voice heard.

Good news for workers on new collective agreements – data from December 2023 quarter shows average pay rises for workers covered by new agreements reached a 15-year high of 4.3 per cent!
That 4.3 per cent increase represents the highest quarterly average pay rise since '09
"Workers are still struggling with the immense burden of cost-of-living increases," HSU Secretary @GerardHayesHSU said. "But these figures show that union members working together is still the most effective way of getting ahead."
HSU members at Healthe Care want to negotiate a new enterprise agreement to set out wages and conditions - in fact, they're waiting at the bargaining table!
But Healthe Care's missing in action. Why are they hiding? Work at Healthe Care? Sign the petition: https://t.co/aAooWggy3X
Aged care workers have been fighting tirelessly for years for the complexity and importance of their work to be recognised. Another big win in their fight for better pay today.

The Federal Government's building a new Aged Care Act to replace the current one that's not fit for purpose.
As the experts in the field, it's vital HSU aged care members have their say! https://t.co/LkCmzlZwe7
Delegates came together to plan out how to provide better quality care for their patients and community while improving their workplaces to attract and retain this critical workforce.
Medical Imaging and Radiation delegates came together last week to talk about building power in their workplaces and fixing outdated public health awards.
These health workers are a vital part of our health system, managing chronic conditions and keeping patients out of hospital, but they’re also overworked and underpaid compared to counterparts in other states.
It's a slap in the face for workers who care for the community every day, while mounting cost of living pressures are weighing them down. HSU members want the government and hospital management to know they deserve respect - not extortionate price hikes just to come to work!
HSU workers at Concord Hospital have voted to escalate action in response to the NSW government failure to listen to about parking fees. The government and hospital management continue to drag their feet in responding to members’ calls for fairness and transparency!
Without delegates, there is no union.

It's high time disability workers were recognised for the incredible job they do day in, day out, caring for society's most vulnerable. This week, it's Disability Workers Week - please join us in celebrating the professionalism and tireless hard work of disability workers
This week, in addition to celebrating their efforts - let's also focus on how we can make NDIS better for workers, for clients and for the broader community and put the heart back into the NDIS!
