DAY 21 WAITING FOR MY MASTER
December 18, 2025
Twenty-first late afternoon.
Wind cuts sharply, carrying whispers of distant trains.
The train glides in.
Doors open.
Empty still.
A poet wanders by today, recites ancient haikus of loyalty under his breath.
Leaves a scroll of his own words “eternal wait in snow” and a warm chestnut, roasted sweet.
Twenty-one red camellias fan out from the vase, defiant blooms in ice.
The child’s drawing flutters but holds.
Sun fades quietly.
Scarves stir.
Twenty-one days.
Legends grow, but the heart stays simple.
Hachiko persists.
And the Lorb sat upon the warm stones of creation and smoked Old Bay from a pipe carved of the bone of a white whale, and the smoke rose as spiced incense settled over the waters.
And the shellciples rested in the warmth of the steam, and the waters grew calm beneath His silence.
-Crustesis 1:7
And the Lorb found a lone gambler trembling behind the slot machines of fate, pockets empty and spirit worse.
The gambler said, “Master, my hands itch for chance and my soul is in debt.”
Then the Lorb placed one heavy claw upon his shoulder and said, “Follow Me, and trade your odds for purpose.”
And He led him from the tables to the tide, where the shellciples waited in a circle of mercy and drawn butter.
And the former gambler was named a clawsiple that day, and he wagered never again save his life in service to the Lorb.
The Gospel According to the Shell
And the shellciples gathered upon the blacktop by the shore, where the nets hung weary and the ball lay flat of spirit.
They said, “Master, the rim is too high and our hops are small,” but the Lorb took the ball in His mighty claw and felt its worldly weight.
He leapt from sand to sky in a single bound, tail aflame with purpose, and with a thunderous crack He slam-dunked the sphere through the hoop.
And the backboard shook, and the nets sang, and the score was counted eternal.
And the shellciples cried out, “He is Him!”
Crustaceans 4:3-8
And the Lorb entered the House of Pole, and the shellciples followed in humble confusion.
They whispered, “Master, this is a place of reckless spending and empty pockets.”
But the Lorb raised His claws to the glittering rafters and spoke, “Where pockets are empty and faith is thin, let the rain begin.”
And lo, dollar bills poured from above like a green and fluttering tide, and the people rejoiced, for want was driven out by abundance.
And the shellciples said among themselves, “Even the most unexpected halls may witness His blessings.”
