We were proud to see Dr. Seif El Hadidi, Postdoctoral Researcher at NOCA, present at CardioAlex in Egypt this week.
His lecture, “Clinical Audits in Pharmacy Practice,” explored how Ireland’s national clinical audit model, particularly in heart attack and stroke, could inform pharmacy practice in Egypt.
Dr. El Hadidi highlighted the vital role of pharmacists in audit cycles and shared a vision for integrating data-driven quality improvement into pharmacy.

Yesterday, members of the NOCA team were honoured to take part in the @CHI_Ireland Quality Improvement and Clinical Audit Showcase.
We were privileged to have Louise Brent, Head of Audit Management, and Dr Maria Kehoe, Audit Development Manager, deliver the keynote address. Louise provided an overview of NOCA’s work and showcased the wealth of paediatric data across many of our national audits. Maria shared an update on progress of the new electronic notification process for the National Paediatric Mortality Register (NPMR).
They were joined for a Q&A by Professor Michael Barrett, Chair of the NPMR Governance Committee and Associate Professor Martina Healy, NPMR Clinical Lead. Also representing NOCA were Karina Hamilton, Audit Manager of the Irish Paediatric Critical Care Audit (IPCCA) and Lauren Churchill, Project Manager for the Irish Audit of Paediatric Diabetes (IAPD).
The event was a fantastic opportunity to connect with colleagues and recognise the impressive clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives underway across the CHI hospital network.
A huge thanks to Claire Collins, Quality Improvement & Patient Safety Portfolio Lead at CHI, for the kind invitation. We are also especially grateful to Lucy Nugent, CEO of CHI, and Gráinne bauer Bauer, Chief Director of Nursing, for their warm welcome and for championing the importance of clinical audit and quality improvement across CHI.
