People want to grapple with questions related to race & justice, but we need more opportunities & settings to do it well. @HahrieHan's new book "Undivided" explores an evangelical megachurch's racial solidarity program & the successes/challenges it faced. Join us on🎙️HP 647!
We conducted this interview before the election, but the insights in this article from @DSchrantz about what it takes to organize a multiracial coalition that can contest for real power feels very more urgent now

Have an essay in @thenation today about how the path forward for the Dems is embracing local membership over centralized management, by moving the center of gravity of the party from its consultant class to its local chapters.
After losses like this, we always talk about necessary messaging shifts, as if some new catchphrase is going to break through. But the perfect message is the imperfect (authentic, vernacular) message coming from a neighbor you already have a trusting relationship with.
Thank you @PeteDDavis for writing this article! 👇👇👇Thank you for the shout out to my work, but way more important is the broader message about the work needed to remake the practice of democracy in America.
An area that is not getting enough attention in the autopsies of 2024 is the civic structure of the Democratic Party: how money, attention, organizing, leadership, and decision-making power flow through the party. My start to an exploration here: https://t.co/C7kx5Ptost

We live in a world where are really good at "getting people to do a thing" but not as good at "getting people to become the kind of people who do what needs to be done."
@hahriehan's new book explains what it takes to build bridges across divides.

Thanks so much to Sam for such a thoughtful conversation about my book #Undivided. We covered a lot of ground! I'm not sure about his comparison to Putnam, but I am grateful to be able to talk about the lessons from the book for our democracy.
