People across the country are genuinely interested in Oklahoma’s early literacy law and whether it will deliver meaningful results. I appreciated the opportunity to discuss the law’s key mechanisms, implementation strategy, and prospects for success at the National Governors Association convening this past week.
Oklahoma's 2026 legislative session was an ambitious one for ed. policy. I recently spoke with ExcelinEd about the session's major bills and also released a summary statement highlighting key changes. @ExcelinEd

The choir and the Junior Leadership Corps at Salk Elementary School are impressive. Their Memorial Day Flag Retirement Ceremony serves as a meaningful reminder of the sacrifice and patriotism behind Memorial Day. Thank you to Mr. Kyle Gallien and the military-veteran teachers at Salk for making civics education and leadership development a priority for our young people. @TulsaSchools_sp

State tests are underway across Oklahoma. While these assessments do not provide the full picture of all the great work happening in our schools, they do offer important information. Teachers, school leaders, and families, thank you for your work preparing students this year.

Today Gov. Stitt appointed Alan Armstrong to the US Senate. Coincidentally, Senator Armstrong is an OU grad. and it happened to be OU day at the Capitol.
I’m glad to be tasked with this review of education funding. This work needs to be routine, so that we are continuously working to identify areas for improvement.

Every dollar we invest in public education should be traceable and tied to student success. That’s why I signed an executive order to bring greater transparency to how education dollars are spent, giving parents and taxpayers a clear window into every Oklahoma classroom.
Making the American Dream achievable starts with a strong education. Oklahoma is committed to accountability and investing in our young people.
