Let’s shine a light on Roy Ashton.
A master of transformation, Ashton became a pivotal figure in crafting the haunting make-up for Hammer and British cinema alike. After assisting Phil Leakey in breathing life into The Curse of Frankenstein (1957), Ashton took full control in The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959), conjuring unforgettable imagery.
But he didn't stop there. His genius gave rise to the spectral horrors of The Mummy (1959), The Curse of the Werewolf (1961), and the dread of The Reptile (1966)
—creations that still stalk the nightmares of audiences to this day.
