On 28.09.2017, I was admitted to a psychiatric hospital for the first time, hopeless and afraid of living.
Fast forward 7 years, I spent the day bird watching with my dad on my childhood nature reserve, drinking hot chocolate and feeling so content.
Recovery is always possible.
I’d like to connect with more birdy/nature people on Instagram — 📷 han.birding

It still amazes me how many people connected with my story and the amount of support I’ve gained this year.
8 years after my admission and I’m now writing a book about reconnecting with nature during anorexia recovery.
‘Bird Feeder’ publishes in 2027 - 🔗 in bio to learn more.

Watching a displaying osprey, call and all, on Rutland Water was the perfect way to end our first day at Bird Fair. Big thanks to @timmackrill and the @ospreylf team 🦅
Bring on the rest of the weekend!
The secret is out! My first book is set to be published by Bloomsbury Wildlife in spring 2027.
I can’t wait to share Bird Feeder with you. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported its journey so far ❤️
.@BloomsburyBooks is set to publish Bird Feeder by @HannahRLilly, a "deeply moving" memoir about how Lilly’s connection to the natural world became the catalyst for her recovery from an eating disorder. Bird Feeder will be published in spring 2027 👇 https://t.co/aJ2SgHfRpN

After far too long, I’ve finally published my review of The Volunteers by @CarolDonaldsonM 📚
Informative, touching and funny, this memoir makes for a really enjoyable read. I can’t wait to read On The Marshes next!

I’ve lost & gained followers so just putting it out there: I’m here for birds & nature.
Seeking to connect with nature lovers & to engage people in how we can help save the birds who rely on our buildings to breed.
In other words: Im Hannah & I like birds.
It’s that time of year when I can shamelessly promote my Etsy shop 🎨
An A5 print of my original watercolours would make a great gift (if I do say so myself)
Put them in a nice frame or slip them in a card, up to you…
£9 each with free delivery ⬇️

Hope to keep in touch 🌟
