Six skeletons piled together were unearthed today (8) at #SriLanka's 2nd largest mass grave. 16 skeletons have been identified bringing the total to 318, of which 302 have been excavated. Some of them belong to children, said Attorney at Law VS Niranjan at the #Chemmani site.
@milindarj, these are the 31 kids & people of the Zion Church in Batticaloa who were murdered by the terrorists & the Rajapaksha clan. Their shattered families are forgotten by everyone. How do feel about yourself while working for a criminal family implicated in so many crimes?
Compared to the scale of political repression under the Malima government, the crowd that came for the start of our democratic protest is small. But the pride in the hearts of those who came is immense. Their gratitude is vast. Their humanity carries weight. No matter how much sun, rain, batons, or tear gas comes, we will stay here. Not only against the sinful political vengeance of that cruel Malima regime, but for the self-respect of every woman and man who fought for the country.
In the third photo, the one wearing a blue blouse is General Suresh Sallay’s mother.
@NewsWireLK What’s your point, @alisabrypc ? The govt should ignore crimes and corruption?
Rajapakse lost his mind and became a power hungry dictator and that’s why he imprisoned Gen. Fonseka and the CJ. Sally committed crimes and is being investigated.
Don’t confuse chalk and cheese.
Plenty of hysteria for Suresh Sallay and when you see where it is coming from I think the motives are clear and obvious... At least for me.
Where are the protests and outraged statements from these same politicians, commentators and bad-faith actors for the hundreds who were murdered on Easter Sunday? Do those victims and their kin not deserve answers and closure?
Let me also be clear... The PTA is a terrible law and should be repealed. I opposed it when it was used against poets, comedians, students, activists, lawyers and ordinary citizens. I oppose it now. Whether it is Hejaaz Hizbullah, Ahnaf Jazeem, a protester, or Suresh Sallay, the principle is the same. No one should be subjected to a law that allows prolonged detention and abuse of due process.
The irony, however, is hard to ignore.
Many of the people now demanding due process for Sallay had very little to say when others were denied it. Hejaaz Hizbullah was detained for 10 months without meaningful judicial oversight and 22 months overall.
Countless PTA detainees spent years imprisoned without charge. There were no press conferences, no outrage, or passionate defences of civil liberties or their health concerns.
Sallay has already had access to lawyers, judges and a functioning legal process as he and every detainee should.
But none of this changes the fact that there are serious questions that investigators appear to be pursuing.
According to what has emerged through court proceedings and ongoing investigations, the focus now appears to include:
• Witness statements obtained by CID.
• Evidence from Channel 4 whistleblower Azad Maulana.
• Alleged communications with individuals connected to the Easter attacks.
• The "Sonic-Sonic" intelligence-linked Telegram communications.
• The "Alpha" line of inquiry concerning intelligence intermediaries and contacts.
• Alleged intelligence links to suspects who were released or protected prior to Easter.
• Questions surrounding post-attack conduct, including possible obstruction and evidence suppression.
• The broader network of relationships between intelligence actors and individuals connected to the bombers.
Whether these allegations stand up in court remains to be seen and that is what investigations are for.
What is amazing is how quickly some people want the investigation itself discredited before the evidence is heard.
Who wanted make Hejaaz the mastermind?
Why was it so important to establish a narrative that Sarah Jasmine was dead?
Who benefited from those assumptions?
These questions are not conspiracy theories and they arise directly from the gaps, contradictions and unexplained decisions that have surrounded this investigation for seven years.
The Easter attacks were not just a terrorist atrocity. They were also one of the greatest intelligence and investigative failures in the country's history. If investigators are finally moving beyond the bombers and into the networks, contacts, decisions and actions that surrounded them before and after April 21, then that is exactly where they should be looking.
The victims deserve nothing less than the absolute truth no matter where it may lead or whose feet will ultimately be held to the fire.

@ManikkageYasuni@heyimyudi 💯. Especially B12/Folate deficiency anemia in which there are grave consequences for the entire (CNS/PNS) nervous system and for pregnant mothers. If the diagnosis is pure iron deficiency, then cast iron is ok. And then there is leukemia, bone marrow depression...etc.
I think this is the most fascinating interview I have ever seen in my life regarding #SriLanka.
How can anyone ever defend this man let alone vote for him?
Thinking that Ranil Wickremasinghe is the lesser evil is like saying Israel is the most moral democracy in the Middle East.
Why communism failed?
Communism in theory: Everyone is equal. The state owns everything on behalf of the people. No rich, no poor. Utopia.
Communism in practice: Every single time it has been tried, it has followed the same pattern (sounds familiar?).
Step 1: Promise equality and revolution for the working class.
Step 2: Seize power. Nationalize everything. Abolish private property.
Step 3: A small political elite takes control of all resources "on behalf of the people."
Step 4: Since there is no market to set prices, the state decides what to produce, how much, and for whom. It always gets it wrong. Shortages follow.
Step 5: People lose the incentive to work harder, innovate, or take risks because the rewards are the same regardless of effort.
Step 6: The economy stagnates. The state blames "saboteurs" and "foreign interference."
Step 7: To maintain control, the state suppresses dissent. Free press disappears. Political opponents are jailed or worse.
Step 8: The ruling class lives in luxury while preaching equality. The people queue for bread.
Step 9: Collapse, reform, or permanent authoritarian state.
Soviet Union: Collapsed (1991). 70 years. Estimated 20 million dead under Stalin alone.
China: Survived only by abandoning communist economics in 1978 under Deng Xiaoping and embracing market capitalism. The Communist Party stayed, communism left.
Cuba: 65 years of stagnation. Average salary still under $50/month. People flee on rafts.
Venezuela: Once the richest country in South America. Embraced socialism. Now the poorest. 7.7 million refugees.
North Korea: No comment needed.
Cambodia (Khmer Rouge): 2 million dead in 4 years. A quarter of the population.
Vietnam: Survived by adopting market reforms (Doi Moi, 1986). Same playbook as China.
Why does it fail? Three fundamental reasons:
1. It ignores human nature. People respond to incentives. Remove the reward for effort and you remove the effort.
2. Central planning cannot replace the market. No committee can process the billions of daily decisions that free markets handle through supply and demand.
3. Power corrupts. When the state owns everything, whoever controls the state controls everything. There is no check, no balance, no accountability.
As George Orwell wrote in Animal Farm: "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."
The idea sounds noble. The execution is always the same. Always.

Is blood in your urine a sign of cancer?
If you notice blood in your urine even once, it is very important not to ignore it and to get it checked.
Because blood in the urine is not a diagnosis itself. It is often the first symptom of an underlying condition that needs medical attention.

@ravinda88@Kevin57928906 This prof had a nut loose even during the med school days. Asperger to the max but also acted like an a$$hole incel. His papa was in the CID. He hung out with the pro JVP crowd probably to spy.
@ChandimaKaru@NewsWireLK@RW_SRILANKA Yep. During JR's time I met a couple of kids and Athula Sumathipala who underwent this unique Sri Lankan torture. Unlike JR, Premadasa never released the detainees. He murdered them everyday. Then went to temple in the afternoon.
@dilankaisuruja1@R_R_Prabu@NCdeMel From 2015 to 2019 we borrowed ~13 billion US $ ISBs with increasing interest from 5.1% to 7.6% (bad news). Ravi & Mangala were the finance ministers with PM Ranil. This roll over paid only 2 bil of Rajapaksha ISBs. Now the Marxists JVP inherited this & later @GotabayaR debacle.
