Speaking at "Leading in the Age of AI", an executive breakfast hosted by ALX Enterprise at Norrsken Kigali on Friday, ALX Africa Regional Director Nimie Chaylone urged business leaders to prioritise upskilling their existing workforce to help employees adapt to the AI era rather than replacing them.
"If you find someone who is a culture fit and they have skills, but their skills are becoming obsolete, how can we make sure that you are not losing them but literally keeping them while upskilling them?" she said.
Chaylone said organisations must embed continuous learning into the workplace and equip teams with the skills needed to thrive in an AI-driven economy, while ensuring AI is adopted responsibly.
