Earlier today, as part of our Q2 2026 financial results and earnings, Harmony Biosciences shared encouraging single ascending dose (SAD) data from its Phase 1 study of BP-205, an orexin-2 agonist, demonstrating favorable pharmacokinetic (PK) and safety/tolerability profiles and reinforcing BP-205’s profile as a potential best-in-class orexin-2 agonist. These data support Harmony Biosciences’ robust orexin development strategy, including the initiation of multiple Phase 2 studies beginning in mid-2027.

Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS) is a rare and severe form of epilepsy, characterized by treatment-resistant seizures and developmental delays.

LGS develops over time, beginning in early childhood between the ages of 3 and 5 years old, and most individuals living with LGS experience at least one behavioral, motor, or cognitive-associated condition, which persists into adulthood.

While the causes of #LGS are not fully understood, early treatment and a holistic approach are key to enhancing quality of life.

Idiopathic hypersomnia (IH) is a rare and debilitating sleep disorder that can significantly disrupt daily functioning. It is characterized by excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) despite sufficient or even long sleep time. Individuals living with IH may also experience unrefreshed sleep, difficulty awakening, cognitive dysfunction, and autonomic symptoms.

Unlike typical sleepiness, IH is usually not alleviated by naps, longer sleep, or more efficient sleep. People living with IH experience persistent excessive daytime sleepiness along with prolonged difficulty waking up from sleep and “brain fog.”

While the cause of IH is unknown, many patients have a family history of similar symptoms, and IH is likely due to alterations in areas of the brain that stabilize states of sleep and wakefulness.
Approximately 80,000 people in the U.S. are believed to be affected by IH, with 40,000 currently having been diagnosed.
