It is an emotional day here in New York City. I was downtown just before today’s ceremony for an appointment this morning, and I saw the look of sadness and respect on everyone’s faces. It was only a few months ago that I was able to go to the 9/11 Memorial -

because the idea of visiting was too fraught for me. The deaths, the polluted smell, phone service down, wondering where Helen could be. It’s staggeringly vivid, still. 25 years is a long time.
