I’ve never had problems with a view, however poorly argued, or debating it. My issue is with those who want to decide my views on a subject or my right to hold them @nit_set. The origins of this debate don’t start where you or someone chooses, they lie in my views in Satluj.
Hartosh @HartoshSinghBal, I continue to hold the view that your manner of disagreeing is/was unbecoming.
And the origin of these ugly conversations sit on the issue of KPS Gill and the recent film. This is what I am convinced of, on those counts:

Best wishes.
check the thread. handing out certificates for who can write what about modi is 'grace & humility'? that's doubly sad when you do little to earn them, & the excuse is 'canvas available', as if that isn't a choice.
do see what he's done directly on Modi in 13 yrs, a damp squib.
A disagreement expressed in a manner that I find rather unbecoming. I have read work by @AdityaMenon22's team. They do good journalism which tests people in power. They work with the canvas available to them and Aditya does it with grace and humility, not braggadocio.
Safdarjung Hospitals report says @Wangchuk66’s potassium level is 2.9 whereas just yesterday it was 4.3. They are not allowing me to either get a second opinion by taking him to another lab not are they giving me his blood sample in my presence which i can get tested elsewhere. I have been waiting since 3 hours but they haven’t obliged us yet. This lack of transparency is making us suspicious and we have asked to be discharged immediately so that we can go to a hospital that we are comfortable with. We are awaiting their response for the last 2 hours

As expected, Delhi police undoubtedly under instructions from the govt, have gone in to the Jantar Mantar protest site, have forcibly picked up Sonam Wangchuk & are forcibly removing the protesters from there
a detailed discussion on satluj (not behind a paywall). the framing that @HoneyTrehan chose, how it distorts (he isn't up for a debate), and how the bjp-akali alliance (forthcoming) has worked it to their benefit.

Why did ZEE5 pull down Diljit Dosanjh’s controversial film 'Satluj' within 48 hours of its premiere?
In this episode of 'Know Politics', we decode the fierce political row surrounding the film's portrayal of Punjab's darkest era.

Two men — Mahaveer Jain and Hitesh Jain built careers that grew in near-perfect step with the BJP’s growing grip on Hindi cinema.
Perfect day to read the second part of our Bollywood series: The Bollywood pracharaks who found their place in Modi’s orbit https://t.co/gOdFhWCu8O
why, is your father distributing certicates of permission? just went through your body of work, if the opposition to modi was left to you, there wouldn't be any. such performative liberalism can only survive on a salary of compromise.
Air India Flight 171 was one of the shortest flights in aviation history: just 32 seconds from takeoff to crash. It took 260 lives. A close analysis of those 32 seconds makes it increasingly clear that the disaster was not the result of a single failure but of multiple breaches in the aircraft’s safety architecture—traceable to acts of omission and commission by both Boeing and Air India in the pursuit of cost-cutting measures. Warning signs had been visible for years. These vulnerabilities compounded in the days leading up to the crash and ultimately reached a tipping point on that fateful runway. The crash investigation, however, seems to have only scrutinised the pilot and not Boeing’s opaque and deeply flawed safety architecture.
Reporter Rachel Chitra explains why Air India 171 should never have flown. Watch now: https://t.co/PvowMmf6I4

Sitaram Yechury’s homage to KPS Gill, hear it in full in his voice, the close cooperation between the left and the police as they fought to end a scourge in Punjab. ‘Tarn Taran stood on the verge of being lost, and if it went Punjab would have gone.’

More performance, much of the opposition is using wangchuk’s health as a photo op. If there is to be real mobilisation it needs a greater sense of shared conviction.
the bjp’s game in Punjab feeds a dangerous divisiveness and satluj feeds into it. They also know they can tune the small but performative end of the liberal spectrum for maximum harvest, as is happening now.

have we really forgotten that change in india that seeks to counter entrenched politics requires a large mobilisation on the ground over time, a coming together on a shared set of objectives. and the removal of one minister cannot be the objective.

BJP-RSS engineered Delhi violence, Delhi police let it happen. Kapil Mishra, Kaushal Mishra, Anurag Thakur incited mobs on streets preceding to the violence. Every journalist who covered Delhi violence knows it.

the reason warring continues is because he is rahul's choice, there is a not a single other reason to keep him there. even now with pitch skewed, the cong should be a real contender, it is trying its best not to be.
