@allenholub I agree, yet I'm increasingly convinced that milling about in an office does not constitute "together". We need to be more intentional about when, where, how, and why we work together. Weekly collaboration days, more hackathons, and quarterly off-sites come to mind.
I’m not going anywhere. Should this place become more toxic, I pledge to strive even harder to lift up reason, science, compassion and the rule of law. The struggle against fascism, misinformation, and hate requires tough fighters. I hope you stay in the fight, right beside me.
I don't much like the idea of "owners" (Product, Architectural, &c.). It reeks too much of a single wring-able neck to me, and usually increases delays and bottlenecks while you wait for somebody else to make decisions or give approvals. Coordinators? Sure. Owners? Not so much.
Perhaps there are two kinds of slow: annoying & deliberate.
Annoying: results from bottlenecks, lack of skill.
Deliberate: a correction action, meant to help us stop hurrying & rushing. We slow down to gain better balance and control, which ultimately helps us go faster.
This weekend marks a holy trifecta for the Abrahmic faiths.
Happy Ramadan, Happy Easter, and Happy Passover.
May we all work together for a world based in peace and renewal. ❤️❤️❤️
