DIGWA RECEIVES MORE LENIENT SENTENCE DUE TO EXEMPTIONS IN LAW ALLOWING SIKHS CARRY KNIVES IN PUBLIC.

The judge claims Vickrum Digwa had “good legal reason” to carry his ceremonial Sikh knife, 21cm long.

The judge explained why he set the starting point for the minimum term of the life sentence at 15 years under Schedule 21 of the Sentencing Act 2020, rather than the higher 25-year starting point that normally applies to murders involving a knife that the offender “took to the scene” with the purpose of using it (or having it available) to commit an offence.

The judge explicitly ties that “good legal reason” to Sikh religious practice. This directly resulted in a lower starting point (15 years instead of 25).

NO KNIVES. Sikhs must NOT be allowed to carry them in public. The law must be changed. I don’t care about your religious customs. I’m intolerant of this practice and it has no place in Britain.

No more two-tier Britain. This one case is enough. No excuses will fly with me or millions of others in Britain.
