having all these gaming articles is perfect, as when i go to apply as an insider, i have a very strong portfolio with countless samples of the same genre. by that time, it will be one of the most impressive portfolios for anyone applying for a job in the gaming industry
many dont realize in order to secure a full time position as a writer/insider, the employers want to see published works in the same field. for example if i tried to apply for a sports writing job with a portfolio filled with gaming articles, they usually wouldn’t hire

funny that after being in gaming journalism for as long as i have been, it’s been basically the single genre that i’m known for. i haven’t really written in any other genre besides two older articles, and so all my articles being gaming related will one day be a huge benefit

at least as a gaming insider, it’s way less competitive and it’s a realistic path for me. game developer was a serious long shot option. gaming insider is easily achievable
it would have been awesome working as a script writer for a game dev, but that specific job is far too exclusive, and i wouldn’t have the experience or education to secure a job like that as someone would always be more qualified than me.

all in all, very glad i have ended pursuit in the game dev industry. i found it distracting and confusing to have two career paths as an option that were so vastly different. now that i have only one goal in mind, it by far is less complicated and requires no overthinking

although i look forward to a time where i become a gaming insider, it is not something im actively seeking out now and for a while. i’m very satisfied with what i do now, and wouldn’t want to change that. i believe i will know when the time is right, it’ll sorta become clear

personally it would be really cool to not only have and report on exclusive gaming information, but attending events to cover as well. whether that be something like Summer Game Fest or something smaller, it sounds fun traveling the states to cover specific events

after i recently ended my interest in working at a game developer, sticking with gaming journalism is my path. found out i enjoy the news coverage format far too much to switch, and developing that further as an insider is my final goal

i think, should i eventually make my way as a gaming insider, i could handle breaking news and inside topics REALLY well. sharing exclusive information and knowing inside information really sounds fun to me. that’s my goal career path

don’t forget, i was one of the first people to cover the news that the original Wolf Among Us game was getting a remaster. the following article is from this past March, shows how on top of this i was 👌🏼🙌🏻

this is why i’m telling my PC friends to buy the Sony ports while you still can as i believe once Xbox Helix arrives, Sony will delist their games on PC. they would probably rather die than have their first party games playable on Xbox 😅
now that games like Ghost of Yotei and Wolverine are PS5 exclusive, it will definitely boost console sales. the issue with PC is it’s such a huge market. Steam still constantly sets all time player count highs. i think it’s smart they are bringing exclusivity back

so i believe exclusives are important and really do sell a console. that’s why for years i hoped Sony would return to exclusivity, and thankfully they did. just imagine a world where they went day and date with PC. PS5 sales would dive bomb. as nobody would need one

the main reason i chose PlayStation years ago is for the exclusives. and i think Xbox needs a reason to sell their console. that’s legit what Sony does. especially now that theyre leaving PC behind the games they make force people to buy their console as its only place to play it

as much as i am absolutely not an Xbox fan or Xbox console owner, it’s easy to see a world without them is a negative to us all as competition is good in the gaming world. although it’s not real “competition” as PlayStation dominates sales wise, it’s still important to have both

for those who remembered the ending to the first game would know it simply required a sequel to figure out Ripley’s fate and the outcome of her final escape from the Xenomorph.
so awesome so see all the marketing Alien Isolation 2 is getting 🥹 i waited so long for news of a sequel. sent emails to the devs to ask for it and i was one of the original players of it back on PS3. still feels crazy it’s actually happening
