We're looking forward to continuing this work with experts from the University of Cambridge, to draw up a list of options that could help us improve our food system, our diets and our health. #eatwell#foodmapping
The Eat Well Team are hugely grateful to the 30 or so representatives from all across our food system who joined us last week for our second Nourishing Guernsey workshop; from education to retail, growing to hospitality, government and third sector. #foodmapping#eatwell
Together we reviewed the first draft of the system map which shows the factors that influence what we eat and how they are connected. We also started to consider how the system could change to make it easier to access nutritious food.
Check out this film 👇. Impactful work from our Eat Well Team led by @AKosmas with Caroline Hoar, Cat Tyrrell & Ellie Gould. With prevention at the core of @healthimprovegg , early life nutrition was one of the first areas that we prioritised and continue to progress. 1/5
Over the past 5 yrs, our collaborative efforts with early years settings and the States EY team have transformed children's nutrition and health. The Eat Well policy has brought huge improvements. For more info and to watch our short film please click https://t.co/25sqU8n3Gf
We are excited to announce that Alex Costen will be the Health Improvement Commission’s Be Active lead from February 2025 following the pending retirement of the current Be Active lead @Alun Williams. We are delighted that Alex will be taking on the Be Active lead.

We are delighted to see that as from today, November 1st 2024 it is illegal to smoke in a private vehicle where children or young people under the age of 18 are present. https://t.co/4td9l0SIW3
The 2022 Young People's Survey showed that 6% of children in yr 6 and 9% of children in yrs 8 and 10 had travelled in cars with people smoking. The ban on smoking in vehicles carrying children is very good news for child health. https://t.co/T0scY92CpJ

The whole community (in Guernsey as much as anywhere else) needs to be aware of the power of sport and physical activity and create safe, inclusive spaces that enable girls and women to build on this positive experience.
For the first time the @parisolympicss will see an equal number of men and women competing. The Game organisers have also committed to a balanced coverage of all events. Read more from our #beactive team about how this has been achieved here https://t.co/iQTLtmm3sV.

What is it really like to live in Guernsey?
Have your say and let us know!
We want to know what it’s like to live here, the extent to which Islanders think their needs are met, and what would make their lives better. And we want to hear from as many people as possible.
Le Rondin School are seeking a new funder after successfully trialling an initiative with us this summer term. ‘Munchy Mondays’ saw pupils exploring lots of new veggies, through tasting, sensory activities and practical cooking. For the full story click https://t.co/EmwkaHLwPD
