For my subspecialty trainees who are in their first or second year, particularly in pediatrics, please note that boards costs about $3,000. For me, that’s about 1.5 months worth of rent. Just a heads up to plan your savings accordingly! #MedTwitter
Let’s play guess the subspecialty. Here are some hints: Shouldn’t be too shocking, I figured it out at my own pace, and once I found my rhythm there was no turning back!

I almost decided not to become a doctor
"It's too expensive"
"My high school didn't prepare me to be pre-med"
"I don't know a doctor, how can I become one?"
For these reasons + more, low-income students are unable or decide not to pursue medicine..

Residents disproportionately cover holiday shifts, work overtime, lose time with loved ones, and yet get no increased Or overtime pay from hospitals! Is there any other field or profession that does this? Seriously we all owe them a ton of gratitude
I don’t usually brag about our residency program, but today I’m gonna make an exception.
Like other children’s hospitals, we’re managing a surge in respiratory illness.
But unlike most hospitals, we’re gonna pay the residents who work extra overnight/weekend shifts $100/hour.
