We love Wilson's filmy fern! You can find it on a number of our area walks. My top two to recommend would be Crinan Wood trail from Crinan Canal and Barnluasgan wood trail.
Liverworts can often be used to find really biodiverse areas in #ScotlandsRainforest. Look on rocks, boulders and logs for species like prickly featherwort and western earwort growing together with a tiny fern called Wilson’s filmy fern.

Mirror perfect Crinan Canal yesterday. Had a fantastic birthday walk yesterday stopping at Pollys Coffee Stop at Lock 10 for cake! This is my last outing for #HeartofArgyll as I hand it over at the end of March. It's been a blast. Good fortune to all our little businesses. ❤️

And accommodation options in rural Scotland may be devastated as a result. We rely on these providers to encourage visitors to frequent our smaller towns and villages and the more remote visitor experiences, away from the more popular and often overcrowded Scottish destinations.
📢 New research highlights the mental health impact of Scotland’s short-term let regulations. Findings show stress & financial strain among operators - especially in Edinburgh & rural areas. A call for balanced policies to protect livelihoods & well-being: https://t.co/Lv7Gs0T9mf

Even 20 min sailing from eg Gigha to do a large supermarket shop can result in overnight stays if ferry issues! Plus workers, delivery drivers, clinic or teaching staff heading to an island & staying over will pay, so island prices will rise. The Councils own expenses included!
"Tiree residents have no option but to travel to the mainland to attend hospital clinics, specialist livestock sales, shops or family reunions on what is classified as a lifeline route. Early sailing times usually necessitate an overnight stay in Oban. A Visitor Levy will therefore be a tax on island life."

“Members are concerned that the tax will deter visitors, push many businesses over the £90,000 VAT turnover threshold, and place a financial and administrative burden on accommodation providers.”
