Soil between our fingers, smiles on our faces, and trees in the ground — that’s what success looks like! In 2025, the journey began with the planting of 10,589 trees—a meaningful first step toward restoring ecosystems and strengthening the natural environments that sustain us. As we commemorate International Forest Day, we reaffirm our commitment through the Landscape Repair and Transformation (#LANSRET) Programme —a partnership with @HeartsOfGreen, @uonbi Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies, and @KeForestService that continues to take root. So far this quarter, the initiative has grown to 18,000 trees planted, reflecting what is possible when shared purpose meets sustained action.

But sustainability is not defined by milestones alone—it is measured through consistency, stewardship, and the responsibility to keep going. With plans to plant an additional 12,000 trees in the next rainy season, this work remains firmly focused on the future. Happy International Forest Day.

At the Directorate of Veterinary Services in Kabete, we are committed to achieving a tree survival rate of over 90%. Seedlings that had dried out have been carefully replaced and are now thriving under drip irrigation, giving them the best chance to grow strong and healthy.
