Maybe some of you have forgotten.
Rashford’s issues didn’t start yesterday. They escalated when Amorim left both him and Garnacho out against City. Garnacho responded by working his way back into the team. Rashford chose a loan to Aston Villa, a club already in the UCL.
Instead of staying to help us win the Europa League and fight our way back into Europe, he left. Then the season ended, we finished 15th, and his focus shifted to Barcelona. He wanted the move made permanent, but they turned him down.
Now Cunha, Mbeumo, and Sesko have done the hard work to get United back into the UCL, and suddenly Rashford wants back?
Ask yourself one question, if United weren’t in the Champions League, would Rashford still want to stay?
Jacob Ben has basically confirmed that Marcus Rashford is going to stay, or at the very least is very likely to stay at Manchester United next season.
I told you guys that keeping him, especially with all his qualities, is a no-brainer. He’s still the best left winger at the club and, in my opinion, the best in the Premier League.
Shooting, free kicks, pace, penalties, dribbling, crossing, set pieces, he has it all. He tracks back now too. I’d rather bring Rashford back than spend £50m on Summerville or £120m on Barcola.
Beckham moved from number 10 to number 7. We might see it next season with Mount taking number 19.
What I like most about Carrick is his ability to improve players. We’ve already seen Dorgu, Šeško and Mainoo take clear steps forward under him. He doesn’t just fit players into a system—he develops their strengths, builds their confidence and helps them understand their roles. That’s why I’m not too worried about Santos’ performances at Chelsea. Different environment, different expectations and a completely different coaching approach can change a player’s trajectory.
Too many fans judge signings based on where they’re coming from instead of what they could become. If Carrick and the recruitment team believe Santos has the qualities to succeed at United, that’s enough reason for me to stay patient. Not every player arrives as the finished product, but under the right manager, good talents can become top players. I’m backing Carrick to get the best out of Santos if the deal happens.
Consistency is what earns players their reputation, so I understand why people judge them based on what they’ve consistently produced. What I don’t agree with is the argument that we’re signing Chelsea fourth choice midfielder, as if that’s the full story.
Would Matheus Fernandes start ahead of Caicedo or Enzo Fernández if he were at Chelsea? Probably not. Chelsea have over £200m invested in those two, so naturally they’ll build around them. Being behind elite, expensive midfielders doesn’t automatically mean you’re not a top talent.
Manchester United fans called Mateus Fernandes an elite midfielder because he’s starting regularly for West Ham
Now they’re talking about Andrey Santos like he’s just a mid player because he’s on Chelsea’s bench.
If Santos was the one starting every week for West Ham, they’ be calling him one of the best young midfielders in the league.
Some of you don’t actually rate footballers you rate narratives.
Some players only become “elite” when you like them not because of their ability or achievements The moment they’re on the bench or at a club people don’t like, they’re suddenly overrated
We keep saying “if,” but we already know what Mason Mount can do. After two years at the club, the only question is whether he can stay consistently match fit.
His quality has never been in doubt, his availability has.
If Mount gives us that type of 2021 season he had under Thomas Tuchel then I go forgive am for his past transgressions. No be kuku him fault say na injury prone
It’s great that Santos will have a full pre season with United and train with the squad from day one. That gives Carrick plenty of time to assess him, work on his understanding of the system, and build chemistry with the rest of the midfield.
Pre-season will also give us a much clearer picture of where Carrick sees him, whether as a No. 6, an No. 8, or in a more flexible midfield role. His ability to win duels, receive the ball under pressure, and progress play could make him a valuable option from the start.
It’s the perfect opportunity for him to prove he deserves regular minutes before the season begins.
We still have a long way to go in this transfer window. It’s becoming increasingly clear that United want to invest heavily in midfield before turning their attention to strengthening the other positions. If that’s the plan, patience might be needed.
Where United fans should panic is if we don't sign a LB or LW.
That CM, our data team has been planning with several options for over a year. They know d pros and cons.
That LW, YOUD WANT LINKS TO barcola-esque players...but we seem to not want to do business there
You lot just can’t leave Amorim out of any conversation. It’s clear Tuchel prefers workhorses in midfield. Did you really expect Mainoo to start ahead of Declan Rice?
That’s not a knock on Mainoo, it’s simply about the profile the manager trusts for that role.
Na Amorim and Tuchel make niggas Dey sleep on Mainoo like this. I truly believe say if we jam psg, he go represent for that midfield. The problem be say PSG forwards Dey too lethal but if na dem Vitinha and Joao Neves? No worry I’m good with Mainoo
Manchester United fanbase has posted Santos with the CWC since last night more than the whole Chelsea fanbase has posted him since he became Chelsea player. Surprising 😂😂😂
Na small thing dy freak village people 😂
If the Ederson deal collapses, the first call should be for Carlos Baleba. He’s the closest profile on the market— elite ball winner, powerful carrier, physically dominant and already proven in the Premier League. If the objective is to fix the midfield rather than simply add another name, Baleba is the most logical alternative.
Brighton may be willing to do business too. The relationship between the club and the player has reportedly become strained, so this summer could be the right time for both sides to move on. It won’t be cheap, but if United want a midfielder capable of dominating Premier League games for years, Baleba is the one I’d push for.
Some of you are hypocrites.
If Chelsea had signed Matheus Fernandes, do you honestly believe he would walk straight into the team ahead of Enzo or Caicedo?
We're talking about a player who's been part of two relegated teams, yet some of you are acting like he's already one of the best midfielders in the league. Let's be realistic.
Carlos Baleba and Adam Wharton solve different problems.
Baleba is a transition monster. He covers huge spaces, wins duels, carries the ball through pressure and can erase counter-attacks with his athleticism. His profile raises a team's physical ceiling and gives the midfield far more security without sacrificing progressive carries.
Wharton is the controller. He dictates tempo, scans constantly before receiving, breaks lines with disguised passes and gives structure to possession. He makes football look slower because he processes it quicker than most.
For Manchester United, the better fit depends on the objective.
If the aim is to dominate possession every week, Wharton is the metronome.
If the aim is to make United harder to play through, improve defensive transitions and add intensity without the ball, Baleba is the more transformative signing.
Given United's recurring issues with defending open spaces and controlling transitions, Baleba addresses the more urgent tactical weakness.🔴

I didn’t expect him to be this good in aerial duels. Add his line breaking passes to the mix, and you’ve got a midfielder with a really well rounded profile.
Mainoo already excels at carrying the ball, so pairing him with someone who can break lines with his passing could give United a much better balance in midfield.
Good to see United fans getting behind an INEOS signing. He may not have been our first or second choice target, but Santos is clearly a talented player with huge potential and adds much needed depth to the midfield.
Not every signing has to be a superstar from day one sometimes it’s about building a stronger squad for the long term.
To be honest I could genuinely see the pattern here.
Andre Santos preferred a move to Manchester United in search of more playing time.
Chelsea were willing to sell for £50m and fits the amount United are willing to pay.
He is on low wages.
Lastly, he ranks 3rd on midfielders with line breaking passes. It’s no surprise INEOS closed the deal ASAP with Newcastle lurking.
Welcome to Manchester United ANDREY SANTOS❤️
