Corinne Garcia’s “20 Seconds (Wash, Rinse, Repeat)” demonstrates doubt leading to action.

The piece shows various phases of handwashing, exhibiting which nook and cranny was scrubbed. Through the use of ink, soap, and watercolor, each second overlaps and blends into the other.

Created during the pandemic, the piece conveys the repetitive act of handwashing and of painting each frame—expressing that desire to protect the self and others from a threat to the body.
