When my daughter was born, my mom told me to put the volume on the baby monitor down to the lowest setting so “They really have to get going to wake you up”.

She said she needed her sleep so she could wake up and take care of me. I was the first one though, and she was stay-at-home…

When my wife and I weren’t excited about that idea, my dad got defensive and said “Hey now, that’s really good advice!” I give her a break because she is a good mom, and I love her very much.

Also, her mom put rice in her bottle day 1 and told her breastfeeding is for poor people. Still, I can’t help but think it had an effect on my personality.
