Great afternoon out knocking on doors and speaking to voters in Runcorn on behalf of our hard-working local candidate, Karen Shore. 🌹
Working alongside our Labour Government, I know Karen will be a strong voice in Parliament and deliver real change for residents in Runcorn and Helsby. #LabourDoorstep
Today marks 80 years since the liberation of Bergen-Belsen.
We remember the victims, honour the survivors, and recommit to fighting antisemitism and hate — wherever it is found.
Looking back on a sunny (and busy!) day across Hertford and Stortford on Friday! ☀️
Here’s what I got up to 👇
🥼 Started with a visit to @GSK’s site in Ware to learn more about the work they do and speak to young people benefiting from their skills offer.

Kemi Badenoch has made it clear that the Tory Party is open to deals with Reform in the local elections.
A vote for either Party risks more of the same chaos that held our country back over the past 14 years.
Only this Labour Govt has a Plan for Change👇

It was such a pleasure to welcome Education Secretary @bphillipsonMP to last night’s joint dinner for Welwyn Hatfield Labour and @HertStortLabour, alongside my friend @Andrew_Lewin_.
This Labour government is breaking down the barriers to opportunity and delivering change for our communities after 14 years of Tory failure.
A real honour to speak this evening alongside @JoshDeanMP and @Andrew_Lewin_, and talk about the change Labour is bringing for our children, our communities and our country.
Across Britain, we are turning the page on fourteen years of Tory failure.
This #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek, I raised in the House of Commons the challenges young people in Hertford and Stortford face in accessing mental health support and asked for an update on the positive steps this government is taking to improve it.
Delighted to welcome Secretary of State for Education @bphillipsonMP to Bishop’s Stortford this afternoon for a great session on the #LabourDoorstep 🌹
It was great to talk to residents about the issues that matter to them with Councillor David Jacobs including this government’s £1.6 billion investment in fixing potholes, and our mission to break down the barriers to opportunity for children in Hertford and Stortford.
Great to be joined by our MP Josh Dean and Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson on the doorstep, supporting David Jacobs in Bishop’s Stortford West 🌹

🧑🧑🧒🧒 Important new measures to protect vulnerable children
This government is delivering the single biggest piece of child protection legislation in a generation, and breaking down the barriers to opportunity for children in our community.
Yesterday, I met with Education Secretary @BPhillipsonMP to discuss Labour’s mission to break down barriers to opportunity for every child. In Hertford and Stortford, I am committed to working closely with our incredible schools, nurseries, and colleges to deliver on the Government’s ambitious Plan for Change.
I’ve already had the privilege of visiting many of our local schools and colleges, including Presdales School in Ware, Hertford Regional College, and St Elizabeth’s Centre in Much Hadham, meeting headteachers, education leaders and students, with more planned in the New Year, including a meeting with Hertford and Ware secondary headteachers in Parliament.
Together, we’re ensuring that every child in our community has access to the best start in life and the opportunities they need to thrive. This Labour government is putting education back at the heart of national life.
Our armed forces and their families make extraordinary sacrifices - theirs is the ultimate public service.
I am announcing a landmark deal today to bring military housing back into public hands.
This shows our government is determined to deliver homes fit for our heroes.
The Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill introduced in Parliament today will help us deliver our Plan for Change by putting children's interests first, stopping vulnerable children falling through cracks and making child-centred government a reality.

Our #WaterBill has a second reading in @HouseOfCommons today.
It will:
🚫 ban bonuses for polluting water bosses
⚖️ bring criminal charges against lawbreakers
✅ force water companies to cover the cost of enforcement action
It was a pleasure to visit the @RoyalMail delivery office in Bishop’s Stortford this morning to meet the hardworking team during their busiest season.
Great to find out more about the hard work they do behind the scenes and thank them for keeping us connected to friends and loved ones at Christmas and all year round.
