It is always a great pleasure to invest my new Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets each September.
The 5 new cadets representing the 3 services as well as St John are the exemplars of their units and a credit to their service.
An honour to take the salute at the Royal British Legion cadet parade at Haileybury School . The message is clear – cooperation and coordination between the various groups of cadets, RBL and the community working together.
Delighted to host the @AJEX_UK Veterans tea party in the beautiful garden of Karen and Adam Bloom. Wonderful to see about 130 people attending, including five veterans over the age of 100. Also a good number of cadets from @JCoSS and JFS attending.
A real pleasure to join the year 12 pupils from @RidgewayAcademy as @YOPEYBefriender -befriending the residents of Oakview Lodge Care Home in #Welwyn . Good to meet the pupils and residents sharing their life
I hope many young (and not so young) entrepreneurs will enter my Entrepreneurs Challenge taking place at the Herts County Show in May. For further information, please contact [email protected]
🕯️ Today, we recognise Holocaust Memorial Day, the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
The King and Queen hosted a reception for Holocaust survivors and their families. During the reception, they viewed portraits of seven Holocaust survivors who had been honoured for services to Holocaust awareness and education.
These paintings were commissioned by His Majesty as Prince of Wales and are currently on display in the East Wing of Buckingham Palace.
The King and Queen also met representatives from Patronages which are working to educate future generations about the Holocaust. These patronages included Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, Anne Frank Trust UK and The Holocaust Educational Trust.
Her Majesty had the opportunity to view the painting, Anne Frank: Resistance, a portrait of Anne Frank by Peter Sacks, created for the Anne Frank Trust UK.
The King and Queen lit candles as a symbolic act of remembrance and hope for the future.
The Lord-Lieutenant’s Charity Hub has moved… But only to a newer larger suite in the same building. Now home to 14 local charities it has become a real community. Thank you once again too.@WBSLeavesden for their amazing support. @Watford3RT
