Congratulations to Ms Lisa V, Ms Lisa S, and Ms Diane on more than 50 years of bus driving for @HiltonCSD! We celebrated their retirements, and they certainly will be missed. Amazing people and great bus drivers.
A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Wyoming, Allegany, Livingston, Genesee, Cattaraugus, Erie until May 06, 2025 12:45AM. If you're in the highlighted area, seek higher ground and never try to cross a flooded roadway!
The 8 to 14 day outlook suggests that true Spring air will move into the Great Lakes soon. Before that happens, we’ll have one more round of below normal temperatures in the middle of this week. #ROC#weather
While most of our lake effect snow bands have pushed northward, we're far from finished. A subtle shift in the wind flow will push snow southward again tonight & into Tuesday. This will result in additional heavy snow & near whiteout conditions at times as winds continue to gust to 40 mph.
This will be a story of wildly varying weather from town to town. Those south of the Thruway, very little snow will fall. Travel will be just fine. Between 90 & 104, snow will increase in coverage and intensity. From 104 to the lakeshore, travel will difficult to impossible at times with snow totals of 1-2 feet possible. This is ON TOP OF what has already fallen.
HEADS UP: While temps remain relatively mild into the first half of the night, a second half cold front is coming. Temperatures will dramatically drop into morning while winds continue to howl. That'll drop wind chills below zero at times. Dress accordingly Friday morning!
A BIG thank you to the Village of Hilton, Towns of Parma, Hamlin and Greece for keeping our roads cleared and safe this time of the year for our school buses!
Hilton buses transport over 4,000 students daily & drive 1.3 million miles per year! No wonder we love our Transportation Department, not only during Love the Bus Month, but all year!
It's been a great night for the Cadets!

A High Wind Watch is in effect for Rochester and points westward from Monday morning through Monday night. A slightly unusual setup for us locally, but one that could still produce 50-60 mph wind gusts at times. Gusts of that caliber will be enough to bring down branches & result in sporadic power outages.
Wind speeds could reach 55 mph, especially west of ROC... Find out how long the high winds will last on on News 10NBC First Alert weather at 6 PM. #ROC
These are raw Euro wind chill values for the morning of January 21st, exactly one week from today. That's still a healthy amount of time into the future, but the Euro has been consistent. There's cold and then there's COLD. This is the latter.
Training new drivers on required school bus pre-trip inspections, and the air brake systems on buses. Our trainers and mechanics @HiltonCSD lead these important sessions. Always learning more to keep our students safe.
No significant snow, but lake snow shower and flurry chances continue through Thursday morning with an additional 1-3" for most. https://t.co/767xJ9WxnY
