My heart is broken tonight as I learned of the passing of a good friend of mine. @KathiSueSummers was such a bright shining light. She had a passion for education that I’ve never seen in anyone. From our crazy EdTech presentations to moderating #OrEdChat,she always inspired me ❤️

We teachers are starting the school year broken.

I know you know this because we haven’t been quiet about it.

We do not need new software or literacy training this year. We don’t need to analyze data.

We just need time to plan, heal, and teach.

A5: I’ve made Summer Bucket Lists and Pinterest boards as dream boards but nothing fancy 😊 My Pinterest boards definitely help with smaller projects and ideas I want to hold on to for later. #OrEdChat

A3: I think it’s because there is a formula for data and for instruction but there is no formula for building relationships. You can’t fake it or make people do it or checklist how it’s going. So in the absence of that direction, we revert to what we know…same ol’. #OrEdChat

A2: Yes and no. We love change when it’s the change we want to see but not so much when it’s something we disagree with. I am very much looking forward to the change in our focus on SEL and the new curriculum we are going to pilot next year! #OrEdChat
