2025 has been quite a year, busy all around but lots of places travelled to! I've added Copenhagen & Rotterdam to the international list, and the Lake & Peak District to the UK list! We've had plenty of sun this year, and hopefully there's lots more in the new year!
Just one @ADLbus Enviro200 remains in operation with First Bus London. DE20176 (YX11FZC) started local to me, replacing Dennis Darts on the Harrow routes, and now is the sole remaining Enviro200 in the fleet.
It's pictured turning onto Twyford Avenue, Acton on route 218.
After a busy month, it's nice to finally have a sunny bank holiday weekend to rest! Bit of an outing into North London today and snapping a couple outstanding bits on the growing list, more electrics enter service across London but younger diesels and hybrids continue on!
The diesel @ADLbus Enviro400 is a rather rare type in West London, as the electrification of London's bus fleet continues & hybrids are favoured to replace them.
Less than 30 remain at Metroline, as pictured with TE1311 (LK12AWA) as it headed to Hayes, Prologis Park on route U4
A new type to the London scene is the BYD B12, currently operated by Arriva London and Metroline. A sibling to the decker variant, the BD11, these remind me of a small whale with its humped shape!
Pictured are a few on route 268 in Finchley Road, Belsize Park & Golders Green.
@reading_buses celebrates 125 years of public ownership in October, a milestone that started in 1901 when the Reading Corporation took over the local tramways.
To celebrate, @ADLbus Enviro400EV 4 (RG04ZEB) has been wrapped in a golden livery, as pictured on the Claret 21.
Route 322 passed back to Go Ahead London today, after four (ish) years with Transport UK. The new allocation is now formed of @ADLbus Enviro100EV, as pictured with SEO39 (YX26KBY) outside the O2 Academy Brixton as it headed to Crystal Palace in glorious sun.
A day after spotting GNE's new Enviro200EV at the Metrocentre, they entered service this morning on the X66!
@gonortheast become the first operator to operate the new @ADLbus Enviro200EV. 8811 (YX26KFU), one of four crosses the River Teams this morning as it heads to Gateshead.
A flying visit to Newcastle this week, and so far, the weather has been immaculate with warm April sun! My first visit to Newcastle which has been lovely!
Lots of @gonortheast buses, including the new @ADLbus E200EV which are due to enter service soon.
An Easter Monday filled with sun! A wave of sun for the south of England, perfect for a wander across London. The electrification of London's bus fleets continues to develop, with the Wright products becoming a common type amongst all the operators. The odd E400 still lives on!
London's busiest bus route has been electrified. Route 18, operating between Euston & Sudbury, operated by First Bus London, now operates with an allocation of BYD BD11s.
Pictured in Wembley this morning, BDE47205 (LF75OOW) heads south into Central London.
Sun! We've been blessed with some surprisingly warm March sunshine, perfect for a day out! Ventured out to the north of London, snapping the diesels left in the area as the electrification of London's bus network continues.
Can't not love a B9 in the sun!
Bit of well needed sun today, perfect opportunity to snap some bits after what feels like months of clouds!
Metroline VW1381 (LK62DRV) is pictured at Brunel University as it heads to Heathrow Central on the U3. A spot I've wanted to do, but the grass was always too tall!
Reading Buses' new Alexander Dennis Enviro400EV are now bedding into the Purple 17 and Claret 21, following a mass introduction on Friday 6 February. Comfortable buses with a couple rattles (when going over the potholes on Friar Street) and with a bright interior!
Fantastic attending the @reading_buses EV bus launch (with my university hat on), as the 24 @ADLbus Enviro400EV enter service tomorrow morning at 4am on the Purple 17 and Claret 21. Great to see yet more investment into the fleet, and can't wait to have them on the daily commute!
After just over a week in Hong Kong, it's time to head back home! It's been lovely spending some time in the sunshine snapping a couple of buses, and seeing relatives. Couple of bits ticked off too, including the @ADLbus Enviro500EV and the 1933 Retro livery on a few KMB buses!
Back in Hong Kong for a little break, before returning to a busy Centenary year! While most of my time is spent with relatives, there's always some time to snap a couple of buses! Pictured are an array of buses, hoping to catch a couple bits including the ADL Enviro500EV.
Reading Buses' new electric buses debut today, as they shuttle our graduates from Whiteknights to London Road. Relatively smooth journey, although the bumpy road doesn't help with a few squeaks internally.
Hopefully it won't be too long until the 17 & 21 receive their batches!
The Alexander Dennis Enviro200 can be found across the UK, but its time in NW & W London is rapidly declining.
DE20195 (YX11FZY), is one of two at Edgware, with a handful left across a few garages. While electrification reduces emissions, I'll remember these when I was a kid!
